Jordan <a href=\"https:\/\/votingaccessforall.org\/2022\/05\/vaac-member-spotlight-e-b-jordan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">spent two years<\/a> in the Women\u2019s Huron Valley Correctional Facility on felony drug conviction charges. When she was released, long before her maximum 20-year sentence, Jordan went to work getting felons like her registered to vote. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI went door-to-door to stress the fact that we\u2019re felons, that we can vote. And a lot of people didn\u2019t even know that,\u201d the activist for the left-wing <a href=\"https:\/\/votingaccessforall.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Voting Access for All Coalition<\/a> says in a <a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1MAjURuDNSdbN26I6y9-1ciDojllbD2Of\/view\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">video<\/a> aimed at getting ex-cons to the polls. \u201cI went through my neighborhood \u2026 to inform my neighborhood that I knew there was a lot of felons in my neighborhood and they could vote.\u201d <\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2-long d-flex justify-content-center\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-650330726\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1379703300879-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-64057fc3be3b0daeb0e251cdf032b258 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-64057fc3be3b0daeb0e251cdf032b258\"><\/div>\n<p>\u201cI also had a car, and the people that didn\u2019t have a ride I would drive them up to our local voting polls to have them vote and register,\u201d Jordan added. <\/p>\n<p>The video is \u201cbrought to you\u201d by a coalition of <a href=\"https:\/\/votingaccessforall.org\/about\/organizations\/\">groups<\/a> that include the clerk\u2019s office and sheriff\u2019s office of southeast Michigan\u2019s Washtenaw County. Washtenaw County\u2019s seat of government is Ann Arbor, home to the University of Michigan, a critical county in a critical swing state that will likely decide the next president of the United States. <\/p>\n<p>Another coalition partner is the  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.influencewatch.org\/non-profit\/league-of-women-voters\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">League of Women Voters<\/a> of Michigan. Interestingly, an official from the Michigan LWV chapter told The Federalist the organization was \u201cnot familiar with the video.\u201d Sent a link to the video, the official said the League had no comment. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want to ensure that persons in pre-trial situations, folks about to be released from jail and prison, and their families have the opportunity and knowledge they need to exercise their right to vote in all elections,\u201d the video\u2019s narrator asserts.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-44473597101cbd651b716dc37d0d6995 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-44473597101cbd651b716dc37d0d6995\"><\/div>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The \u2018Criminal Caucus\u2019<\/h2>\n<p>While it may sound like a noble cause, it\u2019s not just about the \u201cright to vote\u201d for the big monied interests behind these \u201creenfranchisement\u201d efforts. It\u2019s about voting for the right people. <\/p>\n<p>Felons cleared to vote (and some not cleared) have long been a reliable bloc of voters for Democrats. A <a href=\"https:\/\/ragnarresearch.com\/felon-enfranchisement\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">2019 study<\/a> by Ragnar Research Partners found that in Florida, for instance, \u201cCurrently incarcerated felons are more than three times as likely to be registered Democrats \u2026 or unaffiliated \u2026 than Republicans. Ex-felons are four times as likely to be Democrats \u2026 or unaffiliated.\u201d In the swing states expected to determine the\u00a0 outcome of the rematch between Joe Biden and Donald Trump, getting felons and those <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/fla-couple-charged-with-child-neglect-after-their-21-month-old-child-overdosed-on-cocaine\/\" title=\"Fla. couple charged with child neglect after their 21-month-old child overdosed on cocaine\">facing felony charges<\/a> to the polls could mean the difference between the left and the right guiding U.S. policy for the next four years. <\/p>\n<p>Perhaps then it comes as little surprise that incumbent President Joe Biden is using his constitutionally suspect <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/05\/17\/zuckbucks-group-trains-election-offices-on-how-to-put-bidenbucks-to-use\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Executive Order 14019<\/a> to turn out the felon vote, using the full force of the federal government to do so. And the well-funded leftist groups working behind the scenes to register felons and would-be felons appear to be assisting in the effort to win an election for Biden and his soft-on-crime political allies in Congress, state legislatures, and prosecutor offices around the country. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe left caters to the criminal caucus,\u201d said Parker Thayer, investigative researcher at the <a href=\"https:\/\/capitalresearch.org\/about\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Capital Research Center,<\/a> a Washington, D.C.-based charity and activist tracker that operates the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.influencewatch.org\/?utm_source=google&#038;utm_medium=cpc&#038;gad_source=1&#038;gclid=Cj0KCQjwu8uyBhC6ARIsAKwBGpRZZQo4qVnK7-H7GhOGnO6s9Rf6LzS-_R4VNQc2Mte3BDt3vKD6E4saAv1sEALw_wcB\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">InfluenceWatch<\/a> database. \u201cThat was the purpose of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.themarshallproject.org\/2021\/06\/23\/millions-of-people-with-felonies-can-now-vote-most-don-t-know-it\">\u2018reforms\u2019<\/a> we saw in 2020. They have a voting base there.\u201d <\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-a15b33226eb5b9628c9fc86ad2ce3e27 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-10\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-a15b33226eb5b9628c9fc86ad2ce3e27\"><\/div>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u2018By Reason of Criminal Conviction\u2019<\/h2>\n<p>In most states, felons lose their right to vote until they complete their sentences and post-sentence requirements to restore eligibility. As the National Conference of State Legislatures <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncsl.org\/elections-and-campaigns\/felon-voting-rights\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reports<\/a>, Maine, Vermont and the District of Columbia grant felons the right to vote even while in prison. In 23 states, felons receive automatic restoration of eligibility following incarceration, while in 15 sates felons are barred from voting while in prison and for a time after release, generally while on probation or parole, according to NCSL. Another 10 states indefinitely prohibit criminals convicted of certain crimes from voting, or require a governor\u2019s pardon. <\/p>\n<p>In 2022, an estimated 4.4 million convicts and ex-cons, making up about 2 percent of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/its-always-about-the-long-game-conservative-group-tries-to-avoid-re-hashing-2020-while-training-activists-to-change-election-process\/\" title=\"\u2018It\u2019s Always About The Long Game\u2019: Conservative Group Tries To Avoid Re-Hashing 2020 While Training Activists To Change Election Process\">voting-age population<\/a>, were ineligible to vote, according to the left-leaning, George <a href=\"https:\/\/www.influencewatch.org\/non-profit\/sentencing-project\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Soros-funded<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sentencingproject.org\/reports\/locked-out-2022-estimates-of-people-denied-voting-rights\/#:~:text=Laws%20in%2048%20states%20ban,to%20the%20post%2DReconstruction%20era.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Sentencing Project<\/a>. The activist organization earlier this year issued a retraction on the estimates it previously published on \u201cdisenfranchisement by reason of criminal conviction\u201d in Mississippi. <\/p>\n<p>Advocacy groups in the name of \u201csocial justice\u201d have lobbied hard to <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/voting-rights-felons-criminal-justice-elections-race-b394bb0347a42b1c3dc7c9b44d23fa7e\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">lift restrictions on felons voting<\/a>, with varying degrees of success. Where changes in the law have failed, well-heeled leftists, including a long list of celebrities, have invested in the \u201ccriminal caucus.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>As left-wing ProPublica <a href=\"https:\/\/www.propublica.org\/article\/bloomberg-lebron-james-fines-fees-florida-felons\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported<\/a> just before the 2020 election, NBA icon LeBron James and pop star Ariana Grande joined leftist billionaire and former New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg, among other celebrities and donors, to kick in some $27 million to pay off \u201clingering court fines and fees for Florida felons.\u201d The bailout, ProPublica and two of Florida\u2019s biggest newspapers <a href=\"https:\/\/www.propublica.org\/article\/bloomberg-lebron-james-fines-fees-florida-felons\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported<\/a>, was aimed at making nearly 13,000 felons eligible to vote in the 2020 presidential election. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlthough the modest increase in eligible felons falls far short of expectations, it could be large enough to make a difference in a key state where polls indicate that the presidential contest is once again a toss-up,\u201d the publications asserted. <\/p>\n<p>The effort by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.influencewatch.org\/non-profit\/advocacy-fund\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Florida Rights Restoration Coalition<\/a> ultimately was all for naught. The Sunshine State turned decidedly red, and\u00a0Trump won Florida by some <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/election\/2020\/results\/state\/florida\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">370,000 votes.<\/a> But it certainly wasn\u2019t for lack of trying. <\/p>\n<p>Four years later, the campaign to target the \u201ccriminal caucus\u201d has been federalized. <\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u2018Strengthen Their Partnership\u2019<\/h2>\n<p>As the Daily Signal <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailysignal.com\/2024\/01\/30\/how-biden-pushes-inmate-voting-with-help-from-interest-groups\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported<\/a> earlier this year, the Federal Bureau of Prisons is partnering with the League of Women Voters, the ACLU, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.influencewatch.org\/non-profit\/campaign-legal-center\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Campaign Legal Center,<\/a> the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.influencewatch.org\/non-profit\/washington-lawyers-committee-for-civil-rights-and-urban-affairs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Washington Lawyers\u2019 Committee<\/a>, and other far-left groups to bolster felon voting this election year. <\/p>\n<p>Prison officials did not return The Federalist\u2019s request for comment, but the the FBP\u2019s Emery Nelson did tell the Daily Signal that the agency \u201cmeets quarterly\u201d with the leftist nonprofits as well as the Sentencing Project and Disability Rights D.C.<\/p>\n<p>The partnerships are the outgrowth of Biden\u2019s fiat, Executive Order 14019, which <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/04\/15\/bidenbucks-make-zuckbucks-look-like-chump-change\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">deputizes federal agencies<\/a> to work with states and administration-approved nonprofits to register voters \u2014 especially dependable Democrats and traditionally left-leaning populations. A group of Pennsylvania lawmakers has asked the U.S. Supreme Court to weigh in on its <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/04\/23\/exclusive-pennsylvania-lawmakers-appeal-to-supreme-court-in-case-challenging-bidenbucks\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">lawsuit,<\/a> which asserts Biden\u2019s executive order unconstitutionally uses the federal government to usurp the responsibility of the state legislative branch. The lawsuit also argues that Congress never approved funding for the Biden administration\u2019s unprecedented \u2014 and costly \u2014 GOTV campaign. <\/p>\n<p>All the while, the administration has <a href=\"https:\/\/thefga.org\/blog\/fga-v-doj-bidenbucks-scandal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">failed to turn over records<\/a> tied to the creation and implementation of the order as the clock ticks down to the 2024 election. <\/p>\n<p>Nelson told the Daily Signal the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/liberal-group-drops-57-million-in-eight-key-states-to-stop-latino-voters-abandoning-biden\/\" title=\"Progressive organization invests  million in crucial states to prevent Latino voters from shifting support away from Biden\">voter education program<\/a> is being offered to inmates through the Federal Bureau of Prisons. As of late January, the bureau had partnered with lefty group <a href=\"https:\/\/www.influencewatch.org\/non-profit\/chicago-votes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Chicago Votes<\/a> and the Metropolitan Correctional Center, as well as the \u201cMetropolitan Detention Center (MDC) Los Angeles and FCI Terminal Island [also in Los Angeles] to continue to strengthen their partnership with the FBOP.\u201d Officials with the MDC did not return The Federalist\u2019s request for comment. <\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u2018Using the Federal Government\u2019<\/h2>\n<p>Biden\u2019s executive order and the GOTV efforts targeting felons and other predominantly left-leaning voting populations was a long time coming. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis was the fulfillment of a plan going on since 2016, as we saw in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/live-blog-updates\/2016\/10\/john-podesta-hillary-clinton-emails-wikileaks-000011\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">leaked emails<\/a> from [billionaire leftist George] Soros and [Hillary Clinton presidential campaign chairman John] Podesta,\u201d Thayer said. \u201cLeft-wing donors wanted this for a long time. It will save them a lot of money if the government does the get-out-the-vote work.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis isn\u2019t Joe Biden caring about democracy,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>It goes back even further, according to a 2017 <a href=\"https:\/\/medium.com\/@MeanJean\/what-is-the-dnc-voter-expansion-project-264395c439f3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">article<\/a> published in Medium. The detailed piece on the \u201cCorporatization of Local, State and Federal Elections\u201d notes former Bill Clinton staffer Robert Stein\u2019s \u201caggressive plan to reform the electoral process and take control of State and Federal Elections.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Stein was the intellectual spark behind the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.influencewatch.org\/organization\/democracy-alliance-da\/\">Democracy Alliance,<\/a> \u201ca network of wealthy donors that has steered $2 billion to a handful of carefully vetted organizations like the Center for American Progress, Media Matters, America Votes and Catalist,\u201d left-leaning Inside Philanthropy<a href=\"https:\/\/www.insidephilanthropy.com\/home\/2022\/5\/13\/rob-steins-liberal-legacy\"> reported <\/a>in a retrospective on Stein\u2019s operative life after the leftist money mover died in 2022. A New York Times obituary on Stein, the man \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2022\/05\/03\/us\/politics\/rob-stein-dead.html\">Who Changed How Politics Is Funded,<\/a>\u201d quoted <a href=\"https:\/\/www.influencewatch.org\/non-profit\/media-matters-for-america\/\">Media Matters for America <\/a>founder David Brock, who said the Democracy Alliance, launched in 2005, was \u201crevolutionary\u201d for the left. \u201c[A]nd over the last 20 years it was the sole reason why sustainable Democratic infrastructure got built.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Many of the same players were behind the so-called \u201cvoter expansion project,\u201d which was \u201cembraced\u201d by Bill and Hillary Clinton in early 2014, as the latter was expected to be the front-runner for the 2016 Democratic Party nomination, NPR excitedly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/sections\/itsallpolitics\/2014\/02\/27\/283550311\/clintons-provide-firepower-behind-dnc-voter-expansion-project\">reported<\/a>. The Clintons were \u201ccommitted\u201d to the DNC\u2019s new plan \u201cbecause they have long wanted to see the party be more proactive and systematic in its efforts to increase the number of voters and to protect their voting rights,\u201d NPR declared with the kind of na\u00efvet\u00e9 that appeared to make the government-funded organ of the left stunned when<a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/Politics\/damaging-emails-dnc-wikileaks-dump\/story?id=40852448\"> leaked emails disclosed a corrupt bargain<\/a> between the Clinton campaign, the DNC it bought, and the players who helped rig the nomination process.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are very committed to making sure that we invest and work with our state parties on putting boots on the ground, on focusing on voter expansion \u2026 and making sure that everyone who wants to vote and is eligible has an opportunity to register, has an opportunity to turnout and can have their vote accurately counted,\u201d said Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Fla., NPR reported. The DNC chairwoman at the time was run out of town on a rail on the eve of the 2016 DNC convention in Philadelphia, just as the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/us-news\/2016\/jul\/24\/debbie-wasserman-schultz-resigns-dnc-chair-emails-sanders#:~:text=Schultz%20said%20she%20would%20step,against%20Clinton's%20rival%2C%20Bernie%20Sanders.\"> DNC email scandal broke.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The next step is the federalization of elections: a Democrat-led federal government working with leftist billionaires, Big Tech, and the activists they fund to influence and direct elections. <\/p>\n<p>Executive Order 14019, Thayer asserts, is the replacement for the \u201cZuckbucks\u201d election grant machine. A majority of states have now banned private funding of election administration like the $400 million-plus Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg funneled into the 2020 elections. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey had to find a way around the bans, so they are using the federal government,\u201d the researcher said. \u201cThere really isn\u2019t any <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/manti-teo-posts-video-reacting-to-documentary-detailing-catfishing-scandal\/\" title=\"Manti Te\u2019o Posts Video Reacting To Documentary Detailing Catfishing Scandal\">stone left unturned<\/a> by the left in trying to abuse the powers they are in control of.\u201d <\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u2018A Singular Force of Movement\u2019 <\/h2>\n<p>The \u201ccriminal caucus\u201d was front of mind early on. As uncovered by the Heritage Foundation\u2019s Oversight Project, the Department of Justice held a \u201clistening session\u201d a few months after Biden signed his executive order, in which representatives from several nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) were at the table to talk through the implementation of what critics have labeled <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/05\/16\/republicans-to-small-business-administration-on-bidenbucks-coverup-stop-stonewalling\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u201cBidenbucks.<\/a>\u201d Curiously, not a single Republican or member of a right-of-center organization was in the room. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cEvery participant whose party affiliation or political donation history could be identified by the Oversight Project was identified as a Democrat except for one Green Party member,\u201d a <a href=\"https:\/\/oversight.heritage.org\/OP_Memo_on_EO_14019_Partisan_Implementation_5.1.2024.pdf?_gl=1*j7ploa*_ga*OTM4NjA0MDkwLjE3MTY0MDE3Mjg.*_ga_W14BT6YQ87*MTcxNjc2NjMwOS4zLjEuMTcxNjc2NjMyNS40NC4wLjA.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">memo<\/a> from the Oversight Project states. \u201cThis is concerning because the listening session was billed as \u2018nonpartisan nonprofit organizations engaged in voting rights advocacy to provide their recommendations and thoughts on best practices.\u2019\u201d <\/p>\n<p>The Arab American Institute was there. So was Black Voters Matter.
