Connor&#8217;s venture seeks to showcase the ocean&#8217;s wonders responsibly and positively impact global perceptions of deep-sea expeditions.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p>An <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/ohio\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ohio<\/a> billionaire is planning on taking a deep sea submersible to the bottom of the ocean floor in the northern Atlantic to tour the wreckage of the Titanic just one year after another submersible imploded at the site.<\/p>\n<p>Real estate investor Larry Connor said that he will be making the voyage in a two-person submersible \u2014 more than 12,000 feet deep \u2014 with Triton Submarines co-founder Patrick Lahey.<\/p>\n<p>Lahey, speaking about Connor, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/lifestyle\/travel\/submersible-industry-after-oceangate-6b412e70?mod=hp_lead_pos8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">told<\/a> The Wall Street Journal: \u201cWe had a client, a wonderful man. He called me up and said, \u2018You know, what we need to do is build a sub that can dive to [Titanic-level depths] repeatedly and safely and demonstrate to the world that you guys can do that, and that Titan was a contraption.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Connor told the Journal that he wants to\u00a0\u201cshow people worldwide that while the ocean is extremely powerful, it can be wonderful and enjoyable and really kind of life-changing if you go about it the right way.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPatrick has been thinking about and designing this for over a decade,\u201d Connor continued. \u201cBut we didn\u2019t have the materials and technology. You couldn\u2019t have built this sub five years ago.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The two will make the journey in a $20 million submersible, the Triton 4000\/2 Abyssal Explorer, which can dive to a depth of 4,000 meters. The Titanic rests at the 3,800 meters below the ocean\u2019s surface.<\/p>\n<p>Last June, a submersible from OceanGate imploded on its way to the bottom of the ocean floor to view the Titanic. All five people on board \u2014 including OceanGate\u2019s CEO, Stockton Rush \u2014 were killed within a fraction of second due to the extreme pressures that exist at that depth.<\/p>\n<p>David Lochridge, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/watch-amazing-new-footage-of-titanic-on-ocean-floor\/\" title=\"WATCH: Amazing New Footage Of Titanic On Ocean Floor\">submersible pilot<\/a> and engineer who had served in Great Britain\u2019s Royal Navy and worked all over the world, had <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/oceangate-suspends-operations-after-deadly-implosion\">expressed reservations<\/a> about the design and build of OceanGate\u2019s submersible, but his concerns were reportedly dismissed. He found numerous problems with the vessel, including the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/expert-pilot-fired-by-oceangate-warned-ceo-would-kill-himself-others-to-boost-his-ego-report\/\" title=\"Pilot warned CEO would harm himself, others for ego boost: Report.\">carbon-fiber hull<\/a> having \u201cvery visible signs of delamination and porosity,\u201d the glue for ballast bags coming off, sealing faces with errant plunge holes, and O-ring grooves whose design was not standard, among many others.
