Emergency response\u200d teams from Albuquerque Fire Rescue, Bernalillo County, and\u2063 Kirtland Air Force Base quickly mobilized to the scene. A U.S. military F-35 aircraft, \u200coperated by the Marine Corps, crashed in New Mexico \u200cafter takeoff on its way to a Lockheed factory for maintenance. The pilot, affiliated with a defense contract management agency, sustained serious injuries but\u2064 survived. Prompt emergency responses from Albuquerque Fire Rescue, Bernalillo County, and Kirtland \u200dAir Force Base ensued.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p>A U.S. Military aircraft reportedly crashed in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/new-mexico\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New Mexico<\/a> on Tuesday shortly after taking off on a flight to a Lockheed factory so it could be serviced.<\/p>\n<p>A U.S. official told ABC News that the plane was an F-35, which belonged to the U.S. Marine Corps.<\/p>\n<p>The plane \u201cwas being flown by a defense contract management agency pilot at the time of the crash,\u201d KOAT <a href=\"https:\/\/www.koat.com\/article\/albuquerque-sunport-plane-crash-new-mexico\/60928738\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEarlier today just before 2 p.m. we started getting reports of a possible aircraft down,\u201d said Lt. Jason Fejer, the Public Information Officer for Albuquerque Fire Rescue. \u201cBernalillo County was the first on scene here, they did confirm downed aircraft and started making a search for the pilot and starting <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/no-spike-in-florida-coronavirus-cases-despite-no-mask-mandate\/\" title=\"No Spike in Florida Coronavirus Cases Despite No Mask Mandate\">fire<\/a> suppression efforts.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Albuquerque Fire Rescue, Bernalillo County, and Kirtland Air Force Base quickly joined efforts to respond to the incident.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe pilot was able to get out, that pilot was transported with serious injuries,\u201d he said, adding that the pilot is now in the hospital and that two other civilians who were at the scene were also evaluated.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe road is going to be shut down here for an extended time, Kirtland and the FAA will be taking over this investigation,\u201d he continued. \u201cSo we\u2019re advising people to please avoid the area, let this investigation run its course, and they will get things back open up as soon as possible. So to recap, we did have an aircraft go down, pilot was able to escape and was transported to hospital, a fire has been extinguished. They\u2019re in the process of cleaning up the scene and kind of mopping up any hotspots.
