The timing of the visit, close to Beau&#8217;s death \u200canniversary, stirred curiosity given the intertwined relationships within the Biden family and Hunter&#8217;s legal issues.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<div>\n<p>President Joe Biden randomly stopped by his daughter-in-law\u2019s house days before she is scheduled to testify in her brother-in-law and ex-lover Hunter Biden\u2019s federal gun trial.<\/p>\n<p>Hallie Biden, the wife of Biden\u2019s late son Beau Biden, is slated to speak during the trial, which begins on June 3, about the younger Biden son and the <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/09\/14\/hunter-biden-slapped-with-three-felony-gun-charges-after-lying-on-background-check-in-2018\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">three<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/prosecutor-says-sedition-charges-possible-in-capitol-riot-cases-trump-may-be-criminally-culpable\/\" title=\"Prosecutor Says Sedition Charges Possible In Capitol Riot Cases, Trump May Be \u2018Criminally Culpable\u2019\">federal felony charges<\/a> he accumulated for allegedly lying on a federal form about his extensive and public drug use during a revolver purchase in 2018.<\/p>\n<p>Biden, with the White House press pool <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/AlexThomp\/status\/1794931829839196347\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">in tow in a van<\/a>, rolled up to Hallie\u2019s Delaware residence on Saturday night for what appeared to be a \u201cbrief\u201d private chat away from cameras and reporters. <\/p>\n<p>The White House <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/05\/27\/us-news\/joe-biden-visits-hallie-biden-days-before-she-testifies-in-hunter-biden-gun-trial\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">insisted<\/a> to the New York Post that the stop had nothing to do with Hallie\u2019s role as a witness in the government\u2019s prosecution of Hunter and everything to do with Beau\u2019s death.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe visited her because of the approaching 9th anniversary of Beau\u2019s passing,\u201d White House spokesman Andrew Bates said.<\/p>\n<p>While Biden has made several <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/joe-biden-beau-death-anniversary-cancer-e7458639de75afb28b159b5d733f8c56\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">public appearances<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/05\/30\/joe-biden-visits-grave-of-beau-on-anniversary-of-his-death\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">related to<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/us\/biden-marks-son-beaus-death-with-grave-visit-remarks-military-families-2021-05-30\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the anniversary <\/a>of his son\u2019s passing in recent years, his <a href=\"https:\/\/calendar.google.com\/calendar\/u\/0\/embed?src=cantymedia.com_62fqfmv1eejqs9hntbr6hof5kc@group.calendar.google.com&#038;ctz=America\/New_York\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">travel schedule<\/a> does not suggest he had an annual habit of dropping in on his daughter-in-law at her house days before Beau\u2019s death date.<\/p>\n<p>Biden is no stranger to <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/08\/09\/joe-biden-needs-to-stop-lying-to-gold-star-families-that-his-son-died-in-iraq\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">using his son\u2019s death<\/a> to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/knowles-the-bad-faith-debate-over-cancel-culture\/\" title=\"KNOWLES: The Bad Faith Debate Over \u2018Cancel Culture\u2019\">score political points<\/a>, but Hallie\u2019s role as a key witness for the prosecution of her ex-boyfriend raises questions about the president\u2019s alleged deviation from his standard Beau mourning procedure. Biden has notably earned attention and credit from <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/09\/27\/hunter-texted-james-biden-about-shopping-out-the-biden-brand-the-familys-only-asset\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Hunter<\/a> and his business partners for <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/02\/13\/bidens-and-their-associates-paid-millions-shortly-after-joe-met-with-ccp-linked-energy-company-chairman\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">sweet-talking people<\/a> to protect the <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/08\/03\/devon-archer-burisma-hired-hunter-biden-to-develop-brand-intimidate-opponents\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Biden family \u201cbrand.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Hallie, who became embroiled in an affair with Hunter shortly after Beau\u2019s 2015 death, will be called to the witness stand because she <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtontimes.com\/news\/2024\/may\/27\/joe-biden-visits-first-sons-ex-hallie-biden-before\/#:~:text=Hallie%20Biden%20has%20been%20described,was%20living%20with%20Hallie%20Biden.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">was<\/a> \u201cin a romantic relationship with the defendant in October 2018\u201d and because he \u201cstayed at her home in the fall of 2018,\u201d the same year as the questionable gun purchase. <\/p>\n<p>At the behest of Hunter, Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/hunter-biden-convinced-reluctant-joe-to-publicly-support-his-relationship-with-beaus-widow-hallie\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">endorsed<\/a> the marriage-ending relationship between his son and his other son\u2019s wife in 2017. During their relationship, the couple suffered <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-10919769\/Hunter-accused-Beaus-widow-Hallie-trying-ruin-life-threw-gun-trash.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">many<\/a> addiction woes and arguments, including one in which Hallie threw away <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2021\/03\/26\/read-the-gun-background-check-form-where-hunter-biden-claimed-he-wasnt-using-drugs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">one of Hunter\u2019s firearms<\/a> near a high school in 2018, prompting the <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2021\/03\/25\/report-secret-service-tried-to-clean-up-biden-family-mess-in-hunters-missing-gun-incident\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Secret Service to get involved<\/a>.
