Musker, whose\u200d directorial career \u2062spans over\u2062 four decades, spoke to\u200c Spanish outlet El Pa\u00eds at the Animayo International Summit. Some of his other well-known projects include \u201cThe Great Mouse Detective,\u201d \u201cHercules,\u201d \u201cThe Princess and the Frog,\u201d and \u201cMoana.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/entertainment\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">filmmaker<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">  spoke with Spanish outlet <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/english.elpais.com\/culture\/2024-05-18\/the-director-who-shook-up-disney-and-hollywood-animation-with-a-mermaid-a-genie-from-a-lamp-and-a-polynesian-princess.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">El Pa\u00eds<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">  during the Animayo International Summit in Gran Canaria last week about several topics, including negative feedback for \u201cThe Princess and the Frog\u201d (2009), the story of a waitress who dreams of opening her restaurant in New Orleans. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cWe weren\u2019t trying to be woke, although I understand the criticism. The classic Disney films didn\u2019t start out trying to have a message. Musker said while making \u201cAladdin,\u201d the team had to disguise the name Baghdad with an anagram: Agrabah. \u201cBecause of the war, we couldn\u2019t even go there to do research.
