The\u200d involvement of Trump himself remains a developing issue. This was Abbasi\u2019s second <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/us-troops-in-germany-face-vaccination-delays\/\" title=\"US Troops in Germany Face Vaccination Delays\">time receiving<\/a> a Palme d\u2019Or nomination during his career. However, the award went to <em>Anora<\/em>, a comedy about an exotic dancer.<\/p>\n<p>Actor Sebastian Stan was cast as Trump with Maria Bakalova playing his late wife Ivana. Her 1990 divorce deposition inspired a scene of sexual assault in the film. Trump\u2019s first wife would go on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/opinion\/beltway-confidential\/3012840\/trump-biopic-doesnt-believe-ivanas-denial-rape\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"to deny\">to deny<\/a> that she was ever raped by Trump in a \u201cliteral or criminal sense.\u201d The two were married for 15 years and shared three children and ten grandchildren before she died in 2022.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It remains to be seen if the film will nab any other nominations or even air in the U.S. as members of Trump\u2019s team have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/presidential\/3011306\/trump-team-threatens-sue-filmmaker-blatantly-false-assertions-biopic\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"threatened to sue\">threatened to sue<\/a> its filmmakers for defamation. <\/p>\n<p>This year marked the 77th annual Cannes Film Festival.
