This \u2062followed last week&#8217;s \u2064disclosure that &#8220;deadly force&#8221; was \u2063sanctioned for a 2022 \u200draid on Trump&#8217;s Mar-a-Lago estate. Federal prosecutors refuted Trump&#8217;s assertions, calling them false and potentially endangering\u200d to law enforcement agents involved in \u2064the case, some of whom will be trial witnesses. Whilst Trump&#8217;s legal team doesn&#8217;t see any imminent danger, the\u200c court \u200dhas not reacted\u200b to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-says-special-counsels-requested-gag-order-would-violate-his-free-speech-rights\/\" title=\"Trump claims that the special counsel's requested gag order infringes upon his freedom of speech.\">gag order request<\/a>.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p>Special counsel <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/jack-smith\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jack Smith<\/a> is seeking a gag order against former President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/donald-trump\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Donald Trump<\/a> after he suggested the FBI was authorized to assassinate him.<\/p>\n<p>The request follows the revelation last week that the FBI was permitted to use <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/fbi-signed-off-on-use-of-deadly-force-for-raid-on-trump-home\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u201cdeadly force\u201d<\/a> in the 2022 raid on Trump\u2019s Mar-a-Lago estate.<\/p>\n<p>In response, Trump <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/trump-classified-documents-case-prosecutors-bar-law-enforcement-statements-danger\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">claimed<\/a> FBI agents were \u201cauthorized to shoot me\u201d and were \u201clocked &#038; loaded ready to take me out &#038; put my family in danger.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Smith\u2019s team rebuffed such claims in a <a href=\"https:\/\/storage.courtlistener.com\/recap\/gov.uscourts.flsd.648653\/gov.uscourts.flsd.648653.581.0_1.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">court filing<\/a> in the Florida-based classified documents case against Trump.<\/p>\n<p>Federal prosecutors said the statements \u201cfalsely\u201d suggested law enforcement agents \u201cwere complicit in a plot to assassinate\u201d Trump.<\/p>\n<p>The statements also \u201cexpose those agents, some of whom will be witnesses at trial, to the risk of threats, violence, and harassment,\u201d they added.<\/p>\n<p>Smith\u2019s team asked the court to restrain Trump from making public declarations that pose a serious \u201cdanger\u201d to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/lets-compare-medias-lies-about-the-durham-report-with-what-the-report-actually-said\/\" title=\"Compare media lies about Durham Report with actual findings.\">agents participating<\/a> in the case.<\/p>\n<p>Prosecutors also noted that Trump\u2019s lawyers object to the motion as they \u201cdo not believe that there is any imminent danger.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Neither Trump\u2019s defense team nor\u00a0Judge Aileen Cannon immediately responded to the request for a gag order.<\/p>\n<p>The FBI has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/fbi-signed-off-on-use-of-deadly-force-for-raid-on-trump-home\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">insisted<\/a> that the bureau was following \u201cstandard protocol\u201d in the Mar-a-Lago search that has a policy statement \u201climiting the use of deadly force.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Trump\u2019s re-election campaign spokesman, Steven Cheung, asserted in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2024\/05\/24\/politics\/trump-gag-order-trump-classified-documents\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">statement<\/a> that prosecutors were trying to meddle in the 2024 election.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHacks and Thugs are obsessed with trying to deprive President Trump and all American voters of their First Amendment rights,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRepeated attempts to silence President Trump during the presidential campaign are blatant attempts to interfere in the election,\u201d Cheung added.<\/p>\n<p><b><a href=\"https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" aria-describedby=\"sk-tooltip-9096\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp&#038;source=gmail&#038;ust=1700760801843000&#038;usg=AOvVaw2PQrVSrJfhxNb4LcARqniG\">CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Judges have implemented gag orders against Trump in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/appeals-court-denies-trumps-gag-order-challenge\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New York hush-money case<\/a> and Smith\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2023\/12\/08\/trump-gag-order-jan-6-case-00130874\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/watch-deranged-sounding-georgia-grand-jury-foreman-throws-election-case-against-trump-into-legal-jeopardy\/\" title=\"WATCH: Deranged-Sounding Georgia Grand Jury Foreman Throws Election Case Against Trump Into Legal Jeopardy\">2020 election interference case<\/a><\/a> against the former president.<\/p>\n<p>Trump has maintained his innocence in all of the charges he faces, including in a separate 2020 election interference case in Georgia.<\/p>\n<p>Just one of the four cases \u2014 the criminal matter in Manhattan \u2014 has gone to trial so far.<\/p>\n<p>Judge Cannon <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/federal-judge-indefinitely-postpones-trumps-classified-documents-trial\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">postponed<\/a> the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/donald-trump-trial-classified-documents-hearing-set-one-week-before-first-gop-debate\/\" title=\"Donald Trump trial: Classified documents hearing scheduled ahead of first GOP debate, one week prior.\">classified documents trial<\/a>, which had been set for May 20, and has not selected a new date.<\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ex-President Donald Trump&#8217;s claim that FBI agents could have assassinated him prompted special counsel Jack Smith to request a gag order.
