The\u2064 banking company, which was the\u200d exclusive issuer of Walmart&#8217;s consumer credit cards, has now ended\u2063 this arrangement.\u200b Despite the change, cardholders can still use their Capital One Walmart\u2064 Rewards cards, and Capital One will maintain ownership and servicing of the\u2064 accounts. Although the partnership has ended, customers can still utilize their Capital One Walmart Rewards cards, with Capital One overseeing the ownership and management \u2063of the accounts.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<header> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/news\/\">  News <\/a>  <\/p>\n<h2>Walmart Makes Major Announcement on Credit Card Partnership &#8211; Here&#8217;s What It Means for Shoppers<\/h2>\n<p> <span> <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/author\/ap-reports\/\">  <\/a> <\/p>\n<p> <span>   By <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/author\/ap-reports\/%20\"><span>The Associated Press<\/span><\/a> <\/span> <span>   May 25, 2024 at 9:24am <\/span> <\/span>  <\/header>\n<section>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/walmart-sees-uptick-sales-dont-let-biden-gaslight-means-healthy-economy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Walmart<\/a> has ended a partnership with Capital One that made the banking company the exclusive issuer of Walmart\u2019s consumer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/two-students-china-arrested-allegedly-using-stolen-credit-cards-pay-college-tuition\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">credit cards<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The companies announced the change in a joint statement Friday.<\/p>\n<p>The companies said card-holders can still use their Capital One Walmart Rewards cards, which will continue to accrue rewards unless customers are notified of a change.<\/p>\n<p>Capital One will retain ownership and servicing of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/bank-of-america-ordered-to-pay-customers-100-million-for-double-dipping-other-illegal-practices\/\" title=\"Bank of America fined 0 million for illegal practices, including 'double-dipping'.\">credit card accounts<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Bentonville, Arkansas-based Walmart partnered with Capital One in 2019 after ending its previous credit card deal with Synchrony Financial.<\/p>\n<p>But Walmart eventually soured on Capital One.<\/p>\n<p>In 2023, Walmart sued the McLean, Virginia-based company, saying it wanted to terminate the agreement because Capital One was taking too long to process payments and mail replacement cards.<\/p>\n<p>A federal judge ruled in Walmart\u2019s favor in March.<\/p>\n<p>In a government filing Friday, Capital One said there are approximately $8.5 billion in loans in the existing Walmart credit card portfolio.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s not yet clear when Walmart might name a new banking partner.<\/p>\n<p>The Associated Press sent an email message seeking comment to Walmart on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>The Western Journal has not reviewed this Associated Press story prior to publication.
