autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>But at least the NFL star didn\u2019t throw the three-time Super Bowl-winning kicker under the bus.<\/p>\n<p>As Travis and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/travis-kelce-left-alone-taylor-swift-skipping-big-festival-brother-jason-kelce-also-plans\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jason Kelce<\/a> discussed the ongoing and collective outrage from the left targeting Butker on their \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/travis-kelce-responds-criticism-violent-controversial-moment-hc-andy-reid-just-like-oh-s-head\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New Heights<\/a>\u201d podcast Friday, Travis Kelce was candid.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI cherish him as a teammate,\u201d he said. \u201cI think [Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes] said it best where he is every bit of a great person and a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-tweets-out-support-for-two-athletes-who-came-out-this-week\/\" title=\"Biden Tweets Out Support For Two Athletes Who Came Out This Week\">great teammate<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/patrick-mahomes-refuses-call-gun-control-kansas-city-shooting-continue-educate\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mahomes<\/a> told reporters this week that although he did not agree with every comment Butker made during his commencement address, he would stand by the kicker.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen you\u2019re in the locker room, there\u2019s a lot of people from a lot of different areas of life,\u201d Mahomes said, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/news\/us-news\/patrick-mahomes-says-doesnt-agree-things-harrison-butker-said-calls-gr-rcna153580\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NBC News<\/a>. \u201cThere\u2019s certain things that he said I don\u2019t necessarily agree with, but I understand the person that he is, and he\u2019s trying to do whatever he can to lead people in the right direction.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/nfl-fans-remind-patrick-mahomes-biggest-obstacle-never-overcome-right-super-bowl-lviii\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">talented quarterback<\/a> concluded that in his estimation, Butker is a \u201cgreat person.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to Kelce, Mahomes was correct to praise the man he calls \u201cHarry.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s treated friends and family that I\u2019ve introduced to him with nothing but respect and kindness, and that\u2019s how he treats everyone,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/travis-kelce-hit-major-backlash-controversial-comments-jesus-easter-post-resurface\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Travis Kelce<\/a> said. \u201cWhen it comes down to his views and what he said at the [Benedictine College] <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/watch-biden-mocked-trump-last-september-i-run-up-ramps-he-stumbles-down-ramps\/\" title=\"WATCH: Biden Mocked Trump Last September: \u2018I Run Up Ramps\u2019 He \u2018Stumbles Down Ramps\u2019\">commencement speech<\/a>, you know, those are his.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI can\u2019t say I agree with the majority of it or just about any of it outside of just him loving his family and his kids, and I don\u2019t think that I should judge him by his views, especially his religious views, of how to go about life. That\u2019s just not who I am.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>WARNING: The following video contains vulgar language that some viewers may find offensive.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p> <iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/XzXZM1wLRJk?si=RJDZ2_gjJ8Kv2SbT&#038;start=1420\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The tight end, whose life has been under the microscope since he began dating Swift last fall, apparently is not in favor of upholding the nuclear family, calling out society\u2019s lies to women or standing firm on the idea that people can\u2019t change their gender \u2014 topics Butker touched on at Benedictine.<\/p>\n<p>But at least he didn\u2019t condemn his teammate for the speech, as many on the left surely hoped he would.<\/p>\n<p>After Jason Kelce noted people will always disagree on important issues, his younger brother agreed.<\/p>\n<div id=\"firefly-poll-container\">\n<p>Did Travis Kelce go far enough defending Butker?<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The now-retired Philadelphia Eagles center also pointed out the obvious, which is that a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/fact-check-harrison-butker-really-say-go-back-women-babies-thoughts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">devout Catholic<\/a> sharing traditionally Catholic views at a Catholic school with a group of Catholics shouldn\u2019t have surprised anyone.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s giving a commencement speech at a Catholic university, and, shocker, it ended up being a very religious and Catholic speech,\u201d Jason Kelce said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo me, I can listen to somebody talk and take great value in it, like when he\u2019s talking about the importance of family and the importance that a great mother can make, while also acknowledging that not everybody has to be a homemaker if that\u2019s not what they want to do in life,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Travis Kelce agreed with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/watch-shirtless-jason-kelce-hilariously-upstages-taylor-swift-bills-chiefs-divisional\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">his brother<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Butker triggered hordes of leftists two weeks ago when he told Benedictine students, \u201cSome of you may go on to lead successful careers in the world. But I would venture to guess that the majority of you are most excited about your marriage and the children you will bring into this world.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>There was nothing remotely controversial about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/nfl-throws-conservative-chiefs-star-bus-commencement-speech\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the comment<\/a>. Still, Butker continues to take flak from rabid feminists, angry sports fans and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/pearl-jams-eddie-vedder-total-meltdown-concert-harrison-butkers-speech\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">irrelevant rock stars<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>However, his teammates and his coach, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/watch-patrick-mahomes-andy-reid-defend-harrison-butker-backlash-speech-great-person\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Andy Reid<\/a>, have continued to show him support \u2014 and that matters a lot more.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<div>\n<p><b><i>A Note from Our Deputy Managing Editor:<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><i><span>\u201cWe don\u2019t even know if an election will be held in 2024.\u201d Those 12 words have been stuck in my head since I first read them. <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span>Former Lt.
