Marjorie Taylor-Greene and Jasmine Crockett, who displayed confrontational behavior. Comer expressed disappointment during an \u2063interview\u200b on CNN, emphasizing the \u2064recurrence of such incidents. Rep. \u2064James Comer, the Republican chairman of the\u2064 House Oversight Committee, blames \u200c&#8221;repeat offenders&#8221; for disruptions in hearings, \u2062singling out Reps. Comer \u200dexpressed\u200b discontent in a CNN interview, highlighting the ongoing nature of these incidents.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div data-td-block-uid=\"tdi_78\">\n<p>Rep. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/james-comer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>James Comer<\/a> (R-KY), chairman of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/house-oversight\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>House Oversight Committee<\/a>, is blaming \u201crepeat offenders\u201d for recent spats in the committee\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/house\/3007610\/house-oversight-becomes-second-committee-to-pass-merrick-garland-contempt-of-congress-resolution\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>hearings<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>His comments seemingly refer to at least Reps. Marjorie Taylor-Greene (R-GA) and Jasmine Crockett (D-TX), both of whom appeared to \u201cengage in personalities\u201d during last week\u2019s meeting.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s very unfortunate,\u201d Comer said in an interview on CNN. \u201cIt wasn\u2019t the first time. I hope it\u2019s the last time. The members that have been constant repeat offenders of breaking decorum have all been called out, and hopefully, it won\u2019t happen again.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The hearing, regarding a contempt markup for Attorney General Merrick Garland, ran off topic when Greene and Crockett verbally boxed in front of a politically diverse blend of centrists, conservatives, and progressives on the committee.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou\u2019re not supposed to engage in personalities,\u201d Comer said. \u201cAnd unfortunately, that\u2019s what happened in the last <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/we-would-love-to-see-any-evidence-of-fraud-nothing-they-are-saying-is-true-dominion-voting-systems-spokesman-refutes-fraud-claims-video\/\" title=\"\"We Would Love to See Any Evidence of Fraud - Nothing They Are Saying Is True\" - Dominion Voting Systems Spokesman Refutes Fraud Claims (VIDEO)\">committee hearing<\/a>. Rep. Greene\u2019s words were struck [from the record], I think Rep. Crockett said some very inappropriate things as well.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) similarly involved themselves, asking for members of their opposing parties\u2019 remarks to be struck down respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Comer took over as committee chairman in January 2023, filling the spot left by former Rep. Carolyn Maloney. The House Oversight Committee is considered one of the <a href=\"https:\/\/oversight.house.gov\/about-the-committee\/#:~:text=The%20Committee%20has%20legislative%20jurisdiction,Postal%20Service%20and%20other%20matters.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>most powerful<\/a> House committees due to its \u201clegislative jurisdiction over the District of Columbia, the government procurement process, federal personnel systems, the Postal Service and other matters.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title><strong>CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Comer\u2019s office referred the <em>Washington Examiner<\/em> to the CNN interview when asked for comment.<\/p>\n<p>Comer has his own feud with a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/despite-insistence-by-democrat-politicians-and-medical-elites-empirical-evidence-does-not-conclusively-show-that-masks-reduce-the-spread-of-covid\/\" title=\"Despite Insistence by Democrat Politicians and Medical Elites, Empirical Evidence DOES NOT Conclusively Show that Masks Reduce the Spread of COVID\">member<\/a> of the committee. He previously said Rep.
