Cruz, alongside Senator Katie Britt (R-AL), introduced the IVF Protection Act to\u200d provide federal safeguards for IVF services. He\u200b emphasized bipartisan support\u2063 for protecting IVF among senators, dismissing claims of any\u200d covert agenda against IVF.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Sen. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/ted-cruz\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Ted Cruz<\/a> (R-TX) said <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/democrats\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Democrats<\/a> are falsely claiming that \u201cevil <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/republicans\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Republicans<\/a>\u201d want to take away <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/ivf\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>in vitro fertilization<\/a> to distract from their stance on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/abortion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>abortion<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Cruz and Sen. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/katie-britt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Katie Britt<\/a> (R-AL) introduced the IVF Protection Act on Monday. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/senate\/3009518\/cruz-britt-introduce-bill-medicaid-funding-states-banning-ivf\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>bill amends the Social Security Act<\/a> by providing federal protection for IVF services. If a state or local government bans IVF, that jurisdiction loses its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/medicaid\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Medicaid<\/a> funding.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>On the <a href=\"https:\/\/podcasts.apple.com\/us\/podcast\/senator-ted-cruz-katie-britt-get-serious-about-ivf\/id1710616965?i=1000656621750\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title><em>Citizen McCain<\/em><\/a> podcast with Meghan McCain, Cruz said: \u201cIt\u2019s an issue now where, to the best of my knowledge, all 100 senators strongly support IVF. All of us want to see it protected. (AP Photo\/Mark Schiefelbein)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The Texas senator also said there is no \u201csecret cabal\u201d that is looking to ban IVF.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe challenge is that, in the wake of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/alabama\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Alabama<\/a> Supreme Court decision, there were a lot of partisans that had a political objective where Democrats are trying to tell the story across the country that these evil Republicans want to take away IVF,\u201d Cruz said.<\/p>\n<p>He said this was part of the Democrats\u2019 attempt to divert attention from the party\u2019s position on abortion.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEvery Democrat in the Senate supports zero limits, literally up until the moment of birth, late-term partial birth abortion,\u201d he said. \u201cThat is, 9% of Americans support that proposition.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Cruz slammed Democrats for telling a \u201clie\u201d about how Republicans view IVF rather than being truthful about their own position on abortion.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a lie that they\u2019re going to spend millions of dollars telling, and it\u2019s a lie that a lot of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/media\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>media<\/a> is going to amplify,\u201d Cruz said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Britt also said the Democrats are already exploiting uncertainty caused by the closure of several IVF clinics due to the Alabama Supreme Court ruling in their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/campaign\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>campaign<\/a> ads.<\/p>\n<p>\u200b\u200b<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\"><strong>CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Both Cruz and Britt expressed their continued hope for bipartisan collaboration on the bill, stressing the chance for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/congress\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Congress<\/a> to come <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/healthcare\/3009875\/ted-cruz-ivf-available-parents-profoundly-pro-family\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>together<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI believe we are the party of life. We\u2019re the party of parents. We\u2019re the party of families.
