Former President Donald Trump&#8217;s South Bronx rally garnered considerable interest, sparking speculation about its influence on the upcoming election. The\u200c rally&#8217;s\u200b triumph indicates\u2062 the possibility of changing \u200bdynamics in traditionally Democratic regions, creating ambiguity for the Democratic party.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<header> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/commentary\/\">  Commentary <\/a>   <span> <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/author\/aanton\/\">  <\/a> <\/p>\n<p> <span>   By <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/author\/aanton\/%20\"><span>Allison Anton<\/span><\/a> <\/span> <span>   May 24, 2024 at 10:15am <\/span> <\/span>  <\/header>\n<section>\n<p>You have to wonder what sorts of horrors passed through the minds of President Joe Biden and other Democrats as they saw how many people attended former President Donald Trump\u2019s rally in the South Bronx on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>The turnout in the deep-blue New York borough must have inspired equal measures of shock and denial.<\/p>\n<p>The Trump campaign estimated more than 25,000 attended the rally at Crotona Park, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/trump-vows-save-deep-blue-new-york-city-masive-historic-bronx-rally\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fox News<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Law enforcement sources told the <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/05\/24\/us-news\/trump-bronx-rally-draws-8000-to-10000-attendees-law-enforcement-sources\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New York Post<\/a> the crowd numbered 8,000 to 10,000 \u2014 still a sizable number.<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, those in attendance defied the establishment media stereotype of rural, white <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/jen-psaki-bizarrely-stereotypes-white-conservatives-gets-brutally-mocked-response\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MAGA<\/a> voters.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2024\/05\/23\/us\/politics\/trump-rally-bronx-nyc.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The New York Times<\/a> reported it was \u201ca more diverse crowd than is typical of his rallies, with many Black and Hispanic voters sporting bright red \u2018Make America Great Again\u2019 hats and other Trump-themed apparel.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A video of the crowd shared on X by one of Trump\u2019s senior advisers, Dan Scavino Jr., provided visual evidence of the size and diversity of the crowd who showed up in support of the presumptive GOP nominee in this fall\u2019s presidential race.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">AMAZING! Vance and the American Dream\">issues voters<\/a> have been most concerned about this cycle.<\/p>\n<p>Namely, inflation, illegal immigration and the economy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI will give you low taxes, low inflation, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/secy-yellen-dismissed-concerns-of-double-digit-inflation\/\" title=\"Secy. Yellen dismissed concerns of double-digit inflation\">low interest rates<\/a>, rising wages, growing incomes and fair trade for the American worker,\u201d the former president told the crowd. \u201cAnd we will make energy affordable again by saying drill, baby, drill.\u201d<\/p>\n<p> <iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/07kQVN_7H88?si=9UegSwF5rljQZm_T&#038;start=2266\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Overall, the rally seemed to have been a massive success for Trump.<\/p>\n<p>But does it show he has a chance to win the Bronx or at least the state of New York in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/reports-bidens-pal-obama-fears-trump-cant-beat-joe-2024-complacent\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">this fall\u2019s election<\/a>?<\/p>\n<p>Most likely not.<\/p>\n<p>As Fox News noted, Trump won less than 10 percent of the vote in the Bronx in 2016, and that number increased to only 16 percent in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/good-news-trump-2024-election-looking-like-1968-5-ways\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2020<\/a> election.<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, he wasn\u2019t competitive in New York overall, receiving just 36.5 percent of the statewide vote in 2016 and a slightly improved 37.7 percent four years later.<\/p>\n<div id=\"firefly-poll-container\">\n<p>Can Trump win New York in November?<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Still, the fact that Trump was able to attract so many people in one of the bluest counties in the nation was an impressive achievement.<\/p>\n<p>Turning <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/biden-trump-visit-new-york-time-one-mingles-elites-ritzy-fundraiser-honors-fallen-police-officer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New York<\/a> red might not be feasible this year, but the success of this rally raises the possibility that Trump might win some typically blue areas.<\/p>\n<p>If nothing else, it should at least tell the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/bidens-2020-voters-give-devastating-news-may-dagger-democrats-2024-chances\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Democrats<\/a> that victory is by no means assured.<\/p>\n<p>And that must be their greatest cause for fear.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<div>\n<p><b><i>An Important Message from Our Staff:<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><i><span>In just a few months, the world is going to change forever.
