Former <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/sesame-place-cancels-character-after-obviously-bogus-racism-allegation\/\" title=\"Sesame Place Cancels Character After Obviously Bogus Racism Allegation\">staff members claimed<\/a> they were fired for\u200c being &#8220;too effective&#8221; \u2062at targeting conservatives. Conservative figures,\u200d including Dana \u2062Loesch and Michael Knowles, have criticized MMfA&#8217;s tactics and celebrated its challenges.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p>For years, the reporters at <a href=\"https:\/\/philanthropynewsdigest.org\/news\/media-matters-receives-1-million-from-george-soros#:~:text=In%20a%20statement%2C%20Soros%20said,challenge%20Fox%20News%20poses%20to\">Soros-backed<\/a> outlet Media Matters for America (MMfA) have made it their mission to report on conservative outlets and pundits with the express goal of getting them fired or canceled \u2014 and now that mass layoffs have impacted them, conservatives are weighing in.<\/p>\n<p>The abrupt termination of multiple staffers \u2014 some of whom have been employed with the outlet for years \u2014 followed federal probes spearheaded by Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey and Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton into allegations that MMfA had perpetrated fraud by creating and sharing manipulated data on X.<\/p>\n<p>Several of the outlet\u2019s now-ex employees took to X to complain about their abrupt termination, and to a man, each claimed that they had been fired because they were \u201ctoo effective\u201d at holding conservatives to account.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Bad News: I\u2019ve been laid off from <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/mmfa?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@mmfa<\/a>, along with a dozen colleagues.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s a reason far-right billionaires attack Media Matters with armies of lawyers: They know how effective our work is, and it terrifies them (him).<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Kat Abu (@abughazalehkat) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/abughazalehkat\/status\/1793691841113805312?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 23, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>But conservatives, many of whom have been personally targeted by MMfA over the years, took a different view of the situation.<\/p>\n<p>Radio host Dana Loesch explained, \u201cMMFA is a garbage activist unit bankrolled by communists.
