The judge has firmly set the \u2064trial\u200c date without allowing any more delays.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<header> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/news\/\">  News <\/a>   <span> <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/author\/johnathanjones\/\">  <\/a> <\/p>\n<p> <span>   By <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/author\/johnathanjones\/%20\"><span>Johnathan Jones<\/span><\/a> <\/span> <span>   May 24, 2024 at 4:22am <\/span> <\/span>  <\/header>\n<section>\n<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/breaking-president-trump-gives-pardons-to-73-individuals-and-commutes-another-70-sentences-steve-bannon-is-included\/\" title=\"BREAKING: President Trump Gives Pardons to 73 Individuals and Commutes Another 70 Sentences \u2013 Steve Bannon Is Included\">federal judge overseeing<\/a> the federal government\u2019s tax case against Hunter Biden agreed on Wednesday to postpone his trial for nearly three months.<\/p>\n<p>The ruling roiled the prosecution, which argued there had been more than enough time for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/fox-news-caves-hunter-biden-pulls-controversial-series\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the defendant<\/a> to prepare a defense.<\/p>\n<p>The son of President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/newly-released-text-messages-dont-look-good-hunter-joe-biden-great-exhibit-nonsense-lies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Joe Biden<\/a> was indicted on nine federal charges related to tax evasion in December and had been scheduled to go to trial on June 20.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/politics\/politics-news\/hunter-bidens-tax-charges-trial-postponed-september-rcna153588\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NBC News<\/a>, Hunter Biden now has a court date of Sept. 5 after his defense team successfully argued he needed more time to prepare his defense.<\/p>\n<p>His <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/breaking-federal-investigators-reveal-likely-reason-for-helicopter-crash-that-killed-kobe-bryant\/\" title=\"BREAKING: Federal Investigators Reveal Likely Reason For Helicopter Crash That Killed Kobe Bryant\">legal team argued<\/a> to U.S. District Judge Mark C. Scarsi of California that because the defendant is fighting unresolved <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/hunter-biden-attempts-get-federal-gun-charges-pointing-blame-trump-maga-allies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">gun charges<\/a> in Delaware, a trial beginning within the next few weeks would place an undue burden upon him.<\/p>\n<p>Hunter Biden will go to trial on June 3 on the gun charge, which stems from an allegation he purchased a handgun in 2018 during a time in which he has since admitted he was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/hunter-biden-smartest-man-father-knows-says-smoked-parmesan-cheese-resembled-crack\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">in the throes of drug addiction<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The gun was thrown away in a public trash can 11 days after he purchased it.<\/p>\n<p>Hunter Biden\u2019s legal team tried to delay that trial earlier this week but was unsuccessful, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2024\/05\/21\/politics\/appeals-court-hunter-biden-gun-trial\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CNN<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n<p>Scarsi awarded the president\u2019s son a victory when agreed to delay the tax trial.<\/p>\n<div id=\"firefly-poll-container\">\n<p>Will Hunter Biden be found guilty?<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>However, the judge previously refused to throw out some of the nine federal tax charges Hunter Biden is facing \u2013 meaning he will face each of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ap-breaking-hunter-biden-indicted-on-felony-charges\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the charges<\/a> at the end of the summer.<\/p>\n<p>Federal prosecutor Leo Wise told Scarsi that a \u201cdelay has consequences\u201d when arguing against the ruling.<\/p>\n<p>Per NBC News, Wise said the separate cases Hunter Biden faces are each \u201csimple.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s a lot of noise around this case,\u201d the federal prosecutor said. \u201cBut that doesn\u2019t make it complex or challenging.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Wise estimated trying Biden on charges of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/not-just-hunter-ashley-biden-tax-problems-documents-show\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">tax evasion<\/a> would take six days.<\/p>\n<p>Scarsi \u2014 who was <a href=\"https:\/\/trumpwhitehouse.archives.gov\/presidential-actions\/president-donald-j-trump-announces-eighteenth-wave-judicial-nominees-eighteenth-wave-united-states-attorney-nominees-thirteenth-wave-united-states-marshal-nominees\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">nominated<\/a> to the court by former President Donald Trump \u2014 ruled out any further delays in the case when he said, \u201cWe will go forward on the 5th [of September].\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hunter Biden faces four misdemeanor counts of failure to pay taxes and two misdemeanor counts of failure to file taxes.<\/p>\n<p>He also faces one felony charge of tax evasion and two felony charges of filing a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-grants-26-pardons-and-3-commutations-includes-numerous-prominent-names\/\" title=\"Trump Grants 26 Pardons And 3 Commutations, Includes Numerous Prominent Names\">false tax return<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>When Hunter Biden was charged by special counsel <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/top-republicans-immediately-blast-appointment-david-weiss-hunter-biden-special-counsel\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">David Weiss<\/a> last year, the Justice Department <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/sco-weiss\/pr\/grand-jury-returns-indictment-charging-robert-hunter-biden-three-felony-tax-offenses\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">announced<\/a> the president\u2019s son faced a maximum of 17 years in prison.<\/p>\n<p>The DOJ alleged, \u201cHunter Biden engaged in a four-year scheme in which he chose not to pay at least $1.4 million in self-assessed federal taxes he owed for tax years 2016 through 2019 and to evade the assessment of taxes for tax year 2018 when he filed false returns.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to CNN, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/hip-hop-star-breaks-mold-remakes-classic-song-skewer-hunter-biden\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hunter Biden<\/a> has claimed the charges against him in both federal cases are \u201cpolitical.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A plea deal on the gun and tax charges <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/breaking-hunter-bidens-original-sweetheart-plea-deal-falls-apart-appears-court\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">fell apart<\/a> last year after federal Judge Maryellen Noreika raised questions about the immunity the president\u2019s son would receive.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<div>\n<p><b><i>A Note from Our Deputy Managing Editor:<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><i><span>I heard a chilling comment the other day: \u201cWe don\u2019t even know if an election will be held in 2024.\u201d <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span>That wasn\u2019t said by a conspiracy theorist or a doomsday prophet.
