Chief Gwinn-Villaroel mentioned \u200bpossible disciplinary action against Detective Bryan Gillis. The incident\u2062 occurred as Scheffler arrived at Valhalla Golf Club for the PGA\u200d Championship. Conflicting reports emerged about the arrest, with allegations of noncompliance and acceleration refuted by video evidence.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p>The Kentucky police detective who arrested the world\u2019s No. 1 ranked <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/golf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">golfer<\/a> Scottie Scheffler last week violated his department\u2019s policies by failing to turn on his bodycam during the incident, officials said this week.<\/p>\n<p>Louisville Police Department Chief Jacquelyn Gwinn-Villaroel said at a press conference that any disciplinary action against Detective Bryan Gillis would be \u201cin line with our disciplinary protocol and practices.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDetective Gillis should have turned on his body-worn camera but did not,\u201d the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/fbi-dive-team-joins-texas-search-for-missing-girl\/\" title=\"FBI Dive Team Joins Texas Search for Missing Girl\">chief told reporters<\/a> on Thursday. \u201cHis failure to do so is a violation of LMPD police on uniforms and equipment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dashcam footage from one of the police cars shows Scheffler\u2019s vehicle slowly turning into the Valhalla Golf Club ahead of second round of the PGA Championship last Friday morning.<\/p>\n<p>Video footage that was taken from across the street showed that the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/retired-police-officer-goes-after-jeff-bezos-over-blue-lives-murder-products-on-amazon\/\" title=\"Retired Police Officer Goes After Jeff Bezos Over \u2018Blue Lives Murder\u2019 Products On Amazon\">police officer ran<\/a> after the vehicle and appeared to throw himself onto the vehicle, at which point Scheffler, who was already driving slowly, brought the vehicle to an immediate stop.<\/p>\n<p>The arresting officer claimed that Scheffler \u201crefused to comply and accelerated forward,\u201d dragging him to the ground \u2014 which is not seen anywhere in the video.<\/p>\n<p>Scheffler was charged with second-degree assault of a police officer, third-degree criminal mischief, reckless driving, and disregarding traffic signals from an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/worlds-top-golfer-arrested-while-trying-to-enter-club-for-2nd-round-of-pga-championship\/\" title=\"Top golfer arrested attempting access PGA Championship club for 2nd round\">officer directing traffic<\/a>, according to a court document.
