New Hampshire\u2019s attorney general also charged Kramer with 26 criminal charges. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cNew Hampshire remains committed to ensuring that our elections remain free from unlawful interference and our investigation into this <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/a-second-biden-term-would-be-a-gift-to-red-china\/\" title=\"A Re-election of Biden Would Benefit China\">matter remains ongoing<\/a>,\u201d New Hampshire Attorney General John Formella <a href=\"https:\/\/www.doj.nh.gov\/news\/2024\/20240523-kramer-voter-suppression.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>said<\/a> in a statement. \u201cI hope that our respective enforcement actions send a strong deterrent signal to anyone who might consider interfering with elections, whether through the use of artificial intelligence or otherwise.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure><figcaption>FILE \u2013 This June 19, 2015, file photo shows the Federal Communications Commission building in Washington. The message featured an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/artificial-intelligence\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>AI-generated<\/a> voice similar to Biden\u2019s and falsely told listeners that voting in the primary would prevent them from casting their ballots in November.<\/p>\n<p>While refusing to give further comments, Kramer <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/ai-robocall-biden-new-hampshire-primary-2024-f94aa2d7f835ccc3cc254a90cd481a99\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>previously<\/a> said he was trying to send a wake-up call about the dangers of AI. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cMaybe I\u2019m a villain today, but I think in the end we get a better country and better democracy because of what I\u2019ve done, deliberately,\u201d Kramer <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/biden-robocalls-ai-new-hampshire-charges-fines-9e9cc63a71eb9c78b9bb0d1ec2aa6e9c\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>told<\/a> the <em>Associated Press <\/em>in February.<\/p>\n<p>Kramer is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/mugs-of-maga-mug-shots-of-trump-and-co-defendants-released-in-georgia-rico-case\/\" title=\"MAGA Mugs: Trump and Co-Defendants' Mug Shots Revealed in Georgia RICO Case\">facing 13 felony charges<\/a> for voter suppression using misleading information and 13 misdemeanor charges for impersonating a candidate. While the charges were filed in four different counties, he will be prosecuted by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/new-york-sues-amazon-over-alleged-worker-exploitation-amid-pandemic\/\" title=\"New York Sues Amazon Over Alleged Worker \u2018Exploitation\u2019 Amid Pandemic\">state attorney general\u2019<\/a>s office.<\/p>\n<p>Paul Carpenter is the person who created the audio of Biden\u2019s voice. He told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/politics\/politics-news\/steve-kramer-admitted-deepfaking-bidens-voice-new-hampshire-primary-rcna153626\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>NBC News<\/a> that Kramer hired him and provided screenshots of text messages and payment transactions to corroborate his story. <\/p>\n<p>Kramer confirmed Carpenter\u2019s account, but he said he did it to prompt stricter regulations of AI deepfakes. <\/p>\n<p>Kramer previously worked on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/dean-phillips\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Rep. Dean Phillips<\/a> (D-MN)\u2019s campaign when he was running against Biden in the Democratic primary. Kramer and the Phillips campaign both denied that the campaign had any knowledge of the robocall or directed him to create it.<\/p>\n<p>The FCC also issued a $2 million fine against Lingo Telecom, LLC, for apparently originating illegal robocall traffic.<\/p>\n<p>With the first widespread example of AI being used in national politics, the FCC put forward a new rule banning unsolicited AI robocalls.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title><strong>CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>FCC Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel said regulators are committed to helping states go after the perpetrators. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is no need to travel to far-off lands to see how AI can sow confusion.
