The news media are here to tell you just how wrong those feelings are!<\/p>\n<p>The Guardian this week <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/us-news\/article\/2024\/may\/22\/poll-economy-recession-biden\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">published<\/a> the results of a laughable poll that asked respondents to share their feelings about the U.S. economy. Surprising to no one, Americans\u2019 feelings are the opposite of good. Yet the Guardian saw the results as an opportunity to declare public sentiment about a subjective topic unequivocally <em>WRONG!<\/em><\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2-long d-flex justify-content-center\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-1609143482\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1379703300879-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-92c1d47533282448bfcefb1d0811bf2e fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-92c1d47533282448bfcefb1d0811bf2e\"><\/div>\n<p>\u201cNearly three in five Americans wrongly believe the US is in an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/l-a-s-new-covid-restriction-no-tvs-allowed-at-restaurants\/\" title=\"L.A.\u2019s New COVID Restriction: No TVs Allowed at Restaurants\">economic recession<\/a>,\u201d the article said, \u201cand the majority blame the Biden administration.\u201d It further highlighted what it said are voter \u201cmisconceptions,\u201d including that the economy is in recession and that unemployment is at a record high. Most irksome of all, The Guardian said the survey showed nearly three-fourths of respondents \u201cthink inflation is increasing. In reality, the rate of inflation has fallen sharply from its post-Covid peak of 9.1%.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Technical limitations won\u2019t allow me to insert two massive middle fingers right here.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s unclear whether journalists really are too stupid to understand the compounding effect of inflation \u2014\u00a0regardless of whether its rate of increase has \u201csharply fallen\u201d \u2014\u00a0or if they\u2019re simply engaging in their usual mass deception and manipulation to help a Democrat. (In this case, Joe Biden.) Of course, it could be a mercurial mix of the two.<\/p>\n<p>For any of them reading this right now, inflation doesn\u2019t \u201cfall\u201d in ways felt by consumers unless prices either revert to previous lower numbers or close to them. It\u2019s simple: If a product is $3, but shoots up in a month to $6, that\u2019s a 100 percent rate of inflation. If the rate of inflation over the next month \u201cfalls\u201d to 50 percent, the price of that product will have gone up another three bucks, making it $9. <\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-f37415831eba57be9b130487dcc86a15 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-f37415831eba57be9b130487dcc86a15\"><\/div>\n<p>Yes, inflation technically \u201cfell\u201d by half, but if the rate isn\u2019t 0 percent, then <em>the price is still going up<\/em>, just not as sharply as before. Even at 0 percent inflation, that means the price of the product remains 100 percent higher than it was just a month ago.<\/p>\n<p>But the dumb and manipulative media keep harping that inflation \u201csharply fell\u201d in order to create the impression that prices are also falling, when in fact, they\u2019re still going up, simply at a slower pace. Weirdly enough, repeatedly berating me about how inflation is \u201cfalling\u201d doesn\u2019t seem to make a difference to my checking account when I\u2019m still paying more for standard goods and services.<\/p>\n<p>Compounding the Biden-driven inflation crisis, it doesn\u2019t hit consumers every once in a while. It\u2019s literally every time they go to the grocery store, which for most households is at least weekly. Each time they go, they\u2019re spending significantly more on products that were much cheaper just three years earlier.<\/p>\n<p>The Guardian article was of course amplified by the rest of the media that take it upon themselves to defend any Democrat president. This one\u2019s biggest liability for reelection is the economy he\u2019s shot full of holes with his retarded policies (one of which was referred to as the \u201cInflation Reduction Act\u201d). On MSNBC\u2019s \u201cMorning Joe,\u201d co-host Mika Brzezinski shook her platinum-blonde bob and cited the survey in dismay, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=efAMTLQ7W-0\">saying<\/a> there\u2019s \u201cnot a lot of truth\u201d to what critics of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/consumer-spending-falls-in-dec-sentiment-dips-in-jan\/\" title=\"Consumer spending falls in Dec., sentiment dips in Jan.\">current economic conditions<\/a> have to say about it.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-838c2a1509ab16b6bb0c79a1f5cd26e2 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-10\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-838c2a1509ab16b6bb0c79a1f5cd26e2\"><\/div>\n<p>Axios picked up the Guardian report and ran its own article under the headline, \u201cMore than half of Americans think the U.S. is in a recession. It\u2019s not.\u201d Emily Peck, the author of that write-up, helpfully declared, \u201cThe economy is actually in good shape and there\u2019s no recession.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>Well, why didn\u2019t you say so? Honey, wake up the kids!
