figures during his 12-year career, is broke, according to news reports and social media posts from the 35-year-old.<\/p>\n<p>Brown shared the news that he had filed for bankruptcy on social media on Monday and, in typical AB fashion, treated the matter as a joke.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/caitlin-clark-blocks-former-nfl-star-antonio-brown-extremely-crude-posts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">former Pittsburgh Steeler<\/a> shared a popular meme from the NBC sitcom \u201cThe Office\u201d in which star character Michael Scott \u2014 played by Steve Carell \u2014 shouted, \u201cI declare bankruptcy!\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>WARNING: The following social media posts contain language that some readers might find offensive.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>CTESPN \u2014 an account Brown appears to run that plays on speculation he suffers from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ex-nfl-players-cause-death-revealed-6-months-later\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">chronic traumatic encephalopathy<\/a> from concussions he sustained in the NFL \u2014 posted a video with the meme followed by a clip of the former receiver jubilantly running through a backyard.<\/p>\n<p>Brown promptly reposted it.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>A day later, he posted a link to his personal CashApp account to allow people to chip in and said, \u201cI\u2019m Broke,\u201d along with some <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/disneys-new-christmas-movie-sexualizes-kids\/\" title=\"Disney's latest Christmas film inappropriately portrays children in a sexual manner\">sexually charged language<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">I\u2019m Broke Baby U Still Gone Suck It \ud83d\ude08 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/6cG4wKR2Rp\">https:\/\/t.co\/6cG4wKR2Rp<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 AB (@AB84) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AB84\/status\/1793085676155719907?\">May 22, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timesunion.com\/news\/article\/antonio-brown-claims-3-million-debts-bankrupcty-19472161.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Times Union<\/a> of Albany, New York, reported the bankruptcy filing on Wednesday, saying Brown had filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on Monday in Florida, where he is from and currently resides.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/antonio-brown-goes-back-college-swearing-off-nfl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">seven-time Pro Bowler<\/a> listed debts to eight creditors for an amount nearing $3 million.<\/p>\n<p>He also owed at least four people who sued him in civil court but whom he never paid.<\/p>\n<p>Per the report, $1.2 million of Brown\u2019s crushing debt was owed to a single individual, a truck driver who claimed the former NFL star assaulted him and who a court awarded the sum.<\/p>\n<p>Brown lost the case by default as he never showed up to court to dispute the lawsuit from Anton Tumanov, who said he was assaulted at Brown\u2019s home in 2020, <a href=\"https:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/antonio-brown-ordered-to-pay-12-million-after-allegedly-assaulting-moving-truck-driver-225021016.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Yahoo Sports<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n<p>Three others to whom he was ordered to pay six figures each in civil court also had not been paid.<\/p>\n<p>Many of Brown\u2019s debts also appeared to be related to credit cards and to his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/shapiro-biden-sets-everything-on-fire\/\" title=\"SHAPIRO: Biden Sets Everything on Fire\">tumultuous time<\/a> as the partial owner of the Arena Football League team the Albany Empire, based in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/actor-steve-buscemi-attacked-broad-daylight-walking-new-york-city-street-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New York<\/a> state capital.<\/p>\n<div id=\"firefly-poll-container\">\n<p>Do you like Antonio Brown?<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The team was kicked out of the league with seven games remaining on its schedule last year after Brown said he would not pay the fines he owed and the team was accused of not helping pay some of the league\u2019s operating costs.<\/p>\n<p>Players and coaches later said Brown either never paid them or removed paychecks from their bank accounts after they had been paid, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbssports.com\/nfl\/news\/antonio-browns-arena-team-gets-kicked-out-of-league-after-former-nfl-star-refuses-to-pay-bills\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CBS Sports<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n<p>The former Steeler also owed $28,589 to a company called Avanti Solutions and a sum of $296 to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/jeff-bezos-60m-investment-undercut-ron-desantis-florida-governor-signs-ban\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Florida<\/a> plumber.<\/p>\n<p>He declared $50,000 in assets, and it was unclear who owned the 18,000-square-foot Fort Lauderdale estate he listed as his address in the filing.<\/p>\n<p>Brown earned more than $88 million playing in the NFL from 2010 to 2021, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/overthecap.com\/player\/antonio-brown\/1579\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Over the Cap<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The first nine seasons were with the Steelers. He was traded to the Oakland Raiders in 2019 but never appeared in a game after feuding with management.
