Scheffler&#8217;s arrest, linked to \u2063disobeying\u200c traffic police and dragging an officer with his car, led to the corrective action against Detective Bryan Gillis. Gwinn-Villaroel announced at a press conference that Detective Bryan Gillis did not have his body camera activated during the interaction last Friday, and that he \u201chas received corrective action for this policy violation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDetective Gillis should have turned on his body worn camera, but did not. His failure to do so is a violation of the LMPD policy,\u201d Gwinn-Villaroel said.<\/p>\n<p>Scheffler was arrested after allegedly trying to go around the scene of an earlier fatal traffic accident involving a bus and a pedestrian Friday morning. He was charged with second-degree assault of a police officer, third<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/portland-charges-suspected-antifa-members-for-riot-that-damaged-democratic-party-headquarters\/\" title=\"Portland Charges Suspected Antifa Members For Riot That Damaged Democratic Party Headquarters\">-degree criminal mischief<\/a>, reckless driving, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/menendezs-wife-hit-and-killed-man-with-her-car-in-2018\/\" title=\"In 2018, Menendez's wife fatally struck a man with her car.\">disregarding traffic signals<\/a> from an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/worlds-top-golfer-arrested-while-trying-to-enter-club-for-2nd-round-of-pga-championship\/\" title=\"Top golfer arrested attempting access PGA Championship club for 2nd round\">officer directing traffic<\/a>.\u00a0He was released on personal recognizance later that morning and competed in the PGA Championship.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities released footage from the scene where Scheffler was arrested, but said they were unaware of any that captured the initial interaction between Scheffler and Gillis.<\/p>\n<figure><figcaption>In this mug shot provided by the Louisville Metropolitan Department of Corrections Friday, May 17, 2024, Scottie Scheffler is shown.
