Vice President Kamala Harris, however, called Lousiana\u2019s latest attempt to do so \u201cabsolutely unconscionable\u201d and falsely claimed it \u201cwould criminalize the possession of medication abortion, with penalties of up to several years of jail time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLet\u2019s be clear: Donald Trump did this,\u201d she <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/KamalaHarris\/status\/1793052908113539249\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">wrote on X<\/a>. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><\/figure>\n<p>U.S. House Minority Whip Katherine Clark shared a similar conspiracy theory on her X account. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn just the last 24 hours, Trump opened the door to banning birth control while his allies in Louisiana voted to criminalize the abortion pill. GOP extremists are coming after our most basic freedoms. Don\u2019t look away,\u201d she <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/WhipKClark\/status\/1793298643513991679\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">wrote<\/a>. <\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-674ee16318c7ac4befea5a6af7764c00 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-10\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-674ee16318c7ac4befea5a6af7764c00\"><\/div>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><\/figure>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/legis.la.gov\/Legis\/Law.aspx?d=1294861\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Pro-life laws<\/a> in Louisiana, even with the introduction and passage of the new abortion pill bill, explicitly exempt pregnant women who have a prescription for abortifacients from the new fines and jail time. They also do \u201cnot apply to the sale, use, prescription, or administration of a contraceptive or an emergency contraceptive.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Not even that truth, however, stopped the corporate media from joining the misinformation dogpile. <\/p>\n<p>The Associated Press <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/abortion-pills-louisiana-bill-advanced-77e2eb0320cbc56e89cec1b8ce694be8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">claimed the bill<\/a>, which still needs approval from the state Senate and a signature from the Republican governor, is \u201ca move that doctors fear could prevent them from adequately treating their patients in a timely manner.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>NPR <a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/sections\/health-shots\/2024\/05\/17\/1251965020\/louisiana-may-reclassify-drugs-used-in-abortion-as-controlled-dangerous-substanc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">complained<\/a> that the \u201cproposed regulation could also target people who aren\u2019t pregnant, but want to order abortion pills online and stock them in case of a future pregnancy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The fearmongering by abortion activists about the Louisiana bill is a direct attempt to dredge up public contempt for Republicans who act on voters\u2019 wishes about life in the womb. <a href=\"https:\/\/sbaprolife.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/3-16-23-National-Survey-FDA.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Polling suggests<\/a> a majority of registered voters do not agree that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration vetted the abortion pill \u201ccarefully enough to protect the health and safety of women\u201d before approving it for widespread use.<\/p>\n<p>The U.S. Supreme Court will decide this summer if the FDA, at the behest of the Biden administration, violated the law when it expanded the questionable abortion drug regimen via <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2021\/12\/17\/biden-administration-endorses-more-baby-killing-by-green-lighting-mail-order-abortion-pills\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">mail order<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/03\/05\/selling-abortion-pills-bloodies-the-hands-of-walgreens-and-cvs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">pharmacy sale<\/a>. <\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-c9447ec1fb422d77b6e715a7b557c956 fdrlst__b89e9-after-post-content\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-c9447ec1fb422d77b6e715a7b557c956\"><\/div>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\">    \t\t\t\t\t   \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n<p><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Despite the lack of coverage from pro-abortion media and Democrats, a bipartisan Louisiana legislative group approved a bill this week.
