Council members voted against the signage,\u200d citing Wallen&#8217;s \u2062actions as harmful and not \u2063deserving \u200bof celebration. The Nashville City Council denied \u200ccountry singer Morgan Wallen&#8217;s request\u2063 for\u2064 a\u200b 20-foot neon sign \u2063outside his new Nashville bar due to his recent reckless acts, such as throwing\u200c a chair off a rooftop and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/bicycling-doctor-allegedly-murdered-by-man-who-reportedly-muttered-about-white-privilege\/\" title=\"Bicycling Doctor Allegedly Murdered By Man Who Reportedly Muttered About \u2018White Privilege\u2019\">making racial slurs<\/a>. The \u2064Council deemed Wallen&#8217;s behavior as \u2064harmful and unworthy\u200b of recognition.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/morgan-wallen\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Morgan Wallen<\/a> won\u2019t be following in the footsteps of country superstar\u2019s like Garth Brooks with his name in neon lights outside his new Nashville bar, due to his \u201charmful actions.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Wallen\u2019s downtown bar on Broadway is scheduled to open this Memorial Day Weekend, but the Nashville City council has voted down plans for the 30-year-old country singer to have a 20-foot neon sign on the outside of his six-story bar advertising <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cMorgan Wallen\u2019s This Bar,\u201d the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennessean.com\/story\/news\/local\/davidson\/2024\/05\/22\/nashville-council-rejects-morgan-wallen-bar-sign-citing-harmful-actions\/73796458007\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Tennessean<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">  reported.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/l-a-county-sheriff-warns-homeless-people-from-out-of-state-were-coming-for-you-you-do-not-belong-here\/\" title=\"L.A. You Do Not Belong Here\u2019\">council members voted<\/a> 30-3 against the proposed signage because of the country singer\u2019s recent arrest for <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/crime\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">reckless endangerment<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">  and disorderly conduct for throwing a chair off the roof of Chief\u2019s bar in downtown Nashville on April 7. The council also cited when Wallen was caught on <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tmz.com\/2021\/02\/02\/morgan-wallen-n-word-nashville-neighbors\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">video<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">  using the N-word after a drunken night in January 2021. The <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/watch-morgan-wallen-posts-apology-video-talks-sobriety-following-n-word-video-deplatforming\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">singer later<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">  apologized and said he was both \u201cembarrassed and sorry.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cI don\u2019t want to see a billboard up with the name of a person who\u2019s throwing chairs off of balconies and who is saying racial slurs,\u201d At-large Council member Delishia Porterfield said Tuesday.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">The council members voted no Tuesday night to allowing Wallen\u2019s very own neon sign to go up outside his bar. Thirty members voted against the signage while only three members voted in favor of it. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/LHwvAzgEXR\">https:\/\/t.co\/LHwvAzgEXR<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 KFOX14 News (@KFOX14) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/KFOX14\/status\/1793363733525430510?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 22, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Metro Councilmembers Jordan Huffman said Wallen\u2019s actions and past comments should not be applauded, WZTV Fox 17 <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/fox17.com\/news\/local\/2024-country-music-entertainment-arrest-nashville-metro-council-says-morgan-wallen-not-allowed-to-have-sign-outside-new-downtown-bar\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Nashville<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">  reported.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cHe gives all of us a bad name,\u201d Huffman said. \u201cHis comments are hateful, his actions are harmful and he [doesn\u2019t] belong in this town as far as I\u2019m concerned.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cI\u2019m tired of this city bending over to just make anybody happy that makes a comment that they want to,\u201d he added. \u201cWe continue to go down this road.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><a href=\"https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" aria-describedby=\"sk-tooltip-9096\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp&#038;source=gmail&#038;ust=1700760801843000&#038;usg=AOvVaw2PQrVSrJfhxNb4LcARqniG\">CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Councilwoman Antoinette Lee said she voted the proposed signage down because she said Wallen showed \u201charmful actions\u201d when he allegedly threw the chair from the bar\u2019s roof.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Another councilwoman, Sherri Weiner, said she voted no out of respect for everyone in the city of Nashville.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cI don\u2019t know how we stand here and file resolutions that speak to inclusion and respect for other people,\u201d Weiner said. \u201cAnd out of respect for everyone in this room and for everybody in this city, I have to vote no.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Weeks after the reports about the chair throwing incident, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/morgan-wallen\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Wallen<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">  finally addressed being arrested and made it clear he wasn\u2019t \u201cproud\u201d of what happened in April.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cI didn\u2019t feel right publicly checking in until I made amends with some folks,\u201d Wallen wrote. \u201cI<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/morgan-wallen-addresses-thrown-chair-incident\/\" title=\"Morgan Wallen Speaks Out About Chair Incident\">\u2019ve touched base<\/a> with Nashville law enforcement, my family, and the good people at Chief\u2019s.
