The\u2064 prosecution was disappointed\u200d by the judge&#8217;s ruling.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/washington\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Washington<\/a> state judge has slashed the bail amount for an illegal migrant accused of killing a state trooper in a crash from $1 million down to just $100,000.<\/p>\n<p>Raul Benitez Santana, 32, is charged with vehicular assault and vehicular homicide involving alcohol or drugs in connection with the March death of Washington state trooper Christopher Gadd, 27.<\/p>\n<p>Judge Richard Okrent of Snohomish County Superior Court reduced Santana\u2019s bail on May 15, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/bail-agent-arrested-for-killing-man-with-no-warrants-in-front-of-cops\/\" title=\"Bail Agent Arrested For Killing Man With No Warrants In Front Of Cops\">jail records show<\/a> his original $1 million bail was lowered to $100,000.<\/p>\n<p>The illegal migrant is accused of consuming cannabis and beer before driving 112 mph on the I-5 south just north of Seattle, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heraldnet.com\/news\/judge-reduces-bail-for-driver-accused-of-killing-marysville-trooper\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.heraldnet.com\/news\/judge-reduces-bail-for-driver-accused-of-killing-marysville-trooper\/&#038;source=gmail&#038;ust=1716498314765000&#038;usg=AOvVaw2CECnPBG3Kp1UVw2m3vORs\">according<\/a> to the Everett Herald. He allegedly drove on the shoulder where he crashed into Gadd\u2019s parked patrol car. Gadd died at the scene.<\/p>\n<p>Santana has been held at the Snohomish County Jail since the deadly crash.<\/p>\n<p>Santana\u2019s defense lawyers had argued for his release, arguing that he is not a risk to commit additional crimes and that he would appear at court hearings.
