Assistant\u2062 Attorney General Kristen Clarke emphasized the unlawfulness of obstructing\u200d reproductive\u2064 health care access. The defendants, including Citizens for a Pro-Life Society and \u200cRed \u200bRose Rescue members, faced charges\u200c for protests at abortion facilities.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/biden-administration\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Biden administration<\/a> continued its crackdown on pro-lifer protesters this week as it announced a lawsuit against two <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/psaki-refuses-to-guarantee-that-taxpayer-money-in-stimulus-bill-wont-go-toward-abortions\/\" title=\"Psaki Refuses To Guarantee That Taxpayer Money In Stimulus Bill Won\u2019t Go Toward Abortions\">pro-life organizations<\/a> and seven pro-life activists. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/d9\/2024-05\/complaint_and_jury_demand_pro-life_society.pdf\">lawsuit<\/a> accuses the pro-lifers of violating the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act during two protests at abortion facilities in Ohio in June 2021. If convicted, the defendants could face tens of thousands of dollars in fines. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cObstructing people from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/bill-allowing-12-year-olds-to-get-vaxxed-without-parental-consent-clears-first-hurdle\/\" title=\"Bill Allowing 12-Year-Olds To Get Vaxxed Without Parental Consent Clears First Hurdle\">accessing reproductive health care<\/a> and physically obstructing providers from offering it are unlawful,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/opa\/pr\/justice-department-sues-two-organizations-and-seven-individuals-physically-obstructing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a> Assistant Attorney General Kristen Clarke of the Justice Department\u2019s Civil Rights Division. \u201cCongress passed the FACE Act 30 years ago this month in response to acts of violence, threats of violence and physical obstruction at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/pregnant-rihanna-abortion-activist-says-body-creating-a-life-god-really-does-not-make-a-mistake\/\" title=\"Pregnant Rihanna, Abortion Activist, Says Body Creating \u2018A Life\u2019: \u2018God Really Does Not Make A Mistake\u2019\">reproductive health clinics<\/a> in our country.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The defendants include the organizations Citizens for a Pro-Life Society and Red Rose Rescue as well as Laura Gies, Lauren Handy, Clara McDonald, Monica Miller, Christopher Moscinski, Jay Smith, and Audrey Whipple.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The charges stem from protests at Northeast Ohio Women\u2019s Center (NOWC) in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, on June 4, 2021, and at Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio\u2019s Bedford Heights Surgery Center (BHSC) in Bedford Heights, Ohio.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">During the protests, the defendants went in and around the abortion facilities where they sat, laid down, and kneeled in front of doors and walkways. They also urged women coming to the abortion centers to not get abortions.\u00a0 The protesters were eventually arrested by police and booked for trespassing. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/d9\/2024-05\/complaint_and_jury_demand_pro-life_society.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">criminal complaint<\/a> says that Gies, before her participation in the protest at the Northeast Ohio Women\u2019s Center, previously discussed how she wanted abortion providers shut down. \u201cGod wins when an abortion clinic cannot operate,\u201d she said according to the Justice Department. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Justice Department said that the defendants could be given fines of up to $20,516 for the first violations of the FACE ACT\u00a0 and up to $30,868 for later violations. Biden\u2019s DOJ also asked for the defendants to be required to pay $5,000 in damages to people harmed by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/former-county-elections-official-hit-with-corruption-charges-around-2020-election\/\" title=\"Former County Elections Official Hit With Corruption Charges Around 2020 Election\">alleged criminal actions<\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><a href=\"https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" aria-describedby=\"sk-tooltip-9096\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp&#038;source=gmail&#038;ust=1714657703188000&#038;usg=AOvVaw0-8IzS3B7axoRMsynY0m75\">CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Handy, one of the defendants, was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/pro-life-activist-sentenced-to-over-four-years-in-prison-over-protest-at-d-c-abortion-facility\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sentenced last week<\/a> to nearly five years in prison over her role in a protest at a Washington, D.C., abortion facility in October 2020. She was given 57 months in prison and three years of supervised release after she was <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/anger-erupts-after-biden-doj-gets-5-pro-life-activists-convicted-thrown-in-jail\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">convicted<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">  on charges of violating the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act and conspiracy against rights. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Biden\u2019s DOJ has repeatedly targeted peaceful pro-lifers for prosecution under the FACE Act in places from Tennessee to Michigan to D.C.
