Whistleblowers say the DOJ <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/06\/22\/irs-whistleblower-fbi-tipped-off-people-very-close-to-joe-and-hunter-before-irs-investigative-teams-day-of-action\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">thwarted<\/a> investigative efforts, \u201cslow-walked\u201d cooperation with tax agents, and even <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/06\/22\/delaware-prosecutors-hid-fbi-bribery-document-from-irs-investigators\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">concealed<\/a> critical evidence implicating President Joe Biden in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/whistleblower-alleges-fbi-has-evidence-of-biden-engaging-in-bribery-scheme-with-foreign-national\/\" title=\"FBI has evidence of Biden's bribery scheme with foreign national, says whistleblower.\">criminal bribery scheme<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>House investigators interviewed Hunter Biden himself as part of a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/dem-witness-in-weaponization-hearing-contradicted-her-own-opening-statement\/\" title=\"Witness in weaponization hearing contradicts own opening statement\">presidential impeachment inquiry<\/a> following the discovery of more than <a href=\"https:\/\/oversight.house.gov\/release\/comer-oversight-committee-has-uncovered-mounting-evidence-tying-joe-biden-to-family-business-schemes\/#:~:text=%E2%80%9CAll%20of%20those%20things%20have,Republican%20majority%20and%20our%20investigation.%E2%80%9D&#038;text=The%20Biden%20family%20set%20up,hide%20payments%20from%20foreign%20adversaries.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">20<\/a> shell companies established by the Biden family to funnel <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/08\/09\/investigators-biden-business-brought-in-20-million-and-counting-from-foreign-oligarchs-while-joe-biden-was-vp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">tens of millions<\/a> of dollars from foreign oligarchs. Smith outlined three lies in particular Wednesday. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cFirst, Hunter Biden lied about the recipient of a WhatsApp message sent with the apparent intention to threaten a business associate and demand payment,\u201d Smith explained. <\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-83d56e89a3defd68ec717847fe773d63 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-83d56e89a3defd68ec717847fe773d63\"><\/div>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>In the message, Hunter Biden twice mentioned he was with his father. In the deposition, Hunter Biden sought to dismiss the message, claiming that he was either quote \u201chigh or drunk\u201d when he sent it, and in that state, had sent it to the wrong Zhao, and not actually the one affiliated with the Chinese energy company, CEFC.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cPhone records in front of the Committee today,\u201d Chairman Smith added, \u201cshow Hunter Biden sent the message to the correct Chinese businessman by the name of Raymond Zhao who not only was affiliated with CEFC, but knew exactly what Hunter Biden was talking about.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rep. Harriet Hageman, R-Wyo., <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/03\/01\/rep-harriet-hageman-hunter-biden-used-addictions-as-a-sword-and-a-shield\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">told<\/a> The Federalist following Hunter Biden\u2019s testimony that the president\u2019s son often cited struggles with addiction to escape accountability.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen we tried to get into details,\u201d Hageman said, Biden responded with \u201c\u2018Well, I don\u2019t have a memory of that.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The second lie Smith referenced was when Hunter Biden denied he was the corporate secretary for the firm Rosemont Seneca Bohai. <\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-dcf58b12d0547484ad6a6c543cb07340 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-10\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-dcf58b12d0547484ad6a6c543cb07340\"><\/div>\n<p>\u201cThe truth is in his own handwriting, and it is in front of our Committee today,\u201d Smith said. A <a href=\"https:\/\/gop-waysandmeans.house.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/13-Exhibit-902-RSB-Secretary-Dodge-Email-and-Attachment-4.29.2014_WMRRedacted.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">document<\/a> dated April 29, 2014, reads \u201cI, Robert Hunter Biden, hereby certify that I am the duly elected, qualified and acting Secretary of Rosemont Seneca Bohai LLC, a Corporation organized and existing under the Laws of the State of DE.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThird,\u201d Smith said, \u201cHunter Biden lied during his deposition when he said he never helped individuals obtain U.S. visas.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>An <a href=\"https:\/\/gop-waysandmeans.house.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/25-Exhibit-914-RHB-checking-Visa-Issues-02.05.2015.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">email<\/a> provided to the committee between Hunter Biden and Ukrainian business partners, however, reads, \u201cHunter is checking with Miguel Aleman to see if he can provide cover to Kola on the Visa.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kola was the \u201cCEO of Burisma, Nikolay Zlochevsky,\u201d Smith explained. The email also revealed that Zlochevsky\u2019s \u201cU.S. visa was revoked\u201d because \u201cthere was concern about his foreign travel.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>House Republicans leading the Biden impeachment probe have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/2024\/03\/25\/james-comer-biden-impeachment-criminal-referrals\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">indicated<\/a> that they will pursue criminal referrals to the Department of Justice in lieu of formal articles of impeachment.
