The FEC&#8217;s decision, posted on its website, rejected the April 2023 complaint filed against Rep.\u2064 Nick LaLota by End\u2063 Citizens United. The FEC&#8217;s \u200c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/horror-stories-about-lgbt-education-lead-california-democrats-to-support-crack-down-on-parents-telling-the-stories\/\" title=\"California Democrats are cracking down on parents sharing horror stories about LGBT education.\">unanimous 6-0 vote<\/a> stated the complaint was not\u200b a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/collision-course-how-an-explosion-in-artificial-intelligence-could-threaten-human-agency\/\" title=\"Collision Course: How An Explosion In Artificial Intelligence Could Threaten Human Agency\">priority due<\/a> to its \u200blow dollar amount, \u2063without addressing the accusations&#8217; merits.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The Federal Election Commission, the main independent agency overseeing federal <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/campaign-finance\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>campaign finance<\/a> law, has dismissed a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/1395046\/house-republicans-violated-campaign-finance-law-pac-alleges\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>complaint<\/a> from a left-wing group accusing a Republican lawmaker of illegally transferring funds from his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/reuters-joe-biden-delivers-latino-child-labor-to-slaughterhouses\/\" title=\"Reuters: Joe Biden Delivers Latino Child Labor to Slaughterhouses\">state campaign committee<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>The FEC, in a decision posted on its website on Friday, said the regulator rejected an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/1395046\/house-republicans-violated-campaign-finance-law-pac-alleges\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>April 2023 complaint<\/a> filed against Rep. Nick LaLota (R-NY) by End Citizens United, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/pacs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>political action committee<\/a> supporting Democrats that accused other GOP members of similar violations. It was a unanimous 6-0 vote by the FEC, which wrote in a May letter to the PAC that the complaint was not a priority of the agency and pertained to a \u201clow dollar amount.\u201d The letter did not address the merits of the accusations.<\/p>\n<p>LaLota, who was first elected to Congress last year, said in a statement that the complaint is poised to be one of \u201cmany unserious and partisan attacks\u201d against him \u201cfrom liberal dark money groups.\u201d Jonas Edwards-Jenks, a spokesman for End Citizens United, <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.md\/wovK4#selection-611.185-611.205\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>said<\/a> dismissal of the complaint is not \u201can exoneration.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The complaint charged that LaLota made a prohibited $1,000 transfer, among others, from his state committee to his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/cut-off-from-campaign-cash-omars-husband-turns-to-booze-biz\/\" title=\"Cut Off from Campaign Cash, Omar\u2019s Husband Turns to Booze Biz\">federal committee<\/a>. An attorney for LaLota said in a 2023 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fec.gov\/files\/legal\/murs\/8127\/8127_07.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>letter<\/a> to the FEC that the funds were a permissible contribution, not a transfer, from a nonfederal entity.<\/p>\n<figure><figcaption>Rep. The dismissal comes <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fec.gov\/files\/legal\/murs\/8129\/8129_10.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>months after<\/a> the FEC also rejected a complaint from End Citizens United alleging that Rep. Marc Molinaro (R-NY) unlawfully shuffled $2,000 from his state committee to his federal committee, according to a letter.<\/p>\n<p>End Citizens United lodged similar <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/1395046\/house-republicans-violated-campaign-finance-law-pac-alleges\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>campaign finance law accusations<\/a> in a complaint against Rep. Anthony D\u2019Esposito (R-NY).
