Brazilian authorities are investigating speech deemed \u200charmful or against the \u200dlaw.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan is demanding answers from the FBI on reports the bureau contacted Americans on behalf of the Brazilian government.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Jordan sent a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.scribd.com\/document\/735058963\/Jordan-Letter-to-Wray\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">letter<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">  to FBI Director Christopher Wray on Tuesday seeking answers on reports out of Brazil that suggest the FBI may have played a part in the Brazilian government\u2019s crackdown on critics and journalists. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/former-hunter-biden-associate-joe-biden-served-as-chairman-to-overseas-business-dealings\/\" title=\"Former Hunter Biden Associate: Joe Biden Served as \"Chairman\" to Overseas Business Dealings\">chairman gave<\/a> the FBI a deadline of 5 p.m. on June 4.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cIn Brazil, news outlets have recently reported that the FBI, on behalf of the Brazilian government, reached out to two U.S. residents, including a journalist targeted in some of the censorship orders by Brazilian courts,\u201d says Jordan\u2019s letter, obtained by The Daily Wire. The Ohio Republican then went on to point out the bureau\u2019s recent history of working with the Ukrainian intelligence community to flag the social media accounts of U.S. citizens.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cThe FBI\u2019s recent outreach raises concerns about whether the FBI is again helping to facilitate a foreign government\u2019s censorship efforts. Biggs vow to stand up against Democrat overreach, defend Second Amendment at CPAC\">including free speech<\/a> on digital platforms, is a fundamental and necessary part of democratic and just societies,\u201d Jordan continued.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Brazil\u2019s Supreme Court has launched an investigation into speech alleged to be hateful or subversive to law and order, targeting the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/im-a-republican-im-a-christian-im-pro-life-five-nights-at-freddys-creator-fires-back-after-being-doxxed-for-donating-to-trump\/\" title=\"\u2018I\u2019m A Republican. I\u2019m Pro-Life\u2019: \u2018Five Nights At Freddy\u2019s\u2019 Creator Fires Back After Being Doxxed For Donating To Trump\">social media critics<\/a> of the government and others, including former Brazilian president Jair Bolsonaro.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201c[T]o understand the nature and extent of the FBI\u2019s interactions with the Brazilian government regarding its censorship efforts and to assist the Committee in its oversight,\u201d Jordan wrote, the Judiciary Committee is requesting the FBI turn over a number of documents and communications related to the bureau\u2019s reported dealings with the Brazilian government.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Wealthy tech entrepreneur Elon Musk was wrapped up in the court\u2019s investigation after he said that his platform, X, was being threatened with fines and his employees threatened with jail time unless they comply with court orders to take down some accounts.
