The Committee&#8217;s Chairman may subpoena Psaki if she does not agree to an interview soon.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div data-td-block-uid=\"tdi_78\">\n<p>Former White House press secretary and current MSNBC host <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/jen-psaki\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Jen Psaki<\/a> could face a subpoena from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/house-foreign-affairs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>House Foreign Affairs Committee<\/a> over a false claim she made about President Joe Biden in her book. <\/p>\n<p>House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/Michael-mccaul\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Michael McCaul<\/a> (R-TX) is considering issuing Psaki a subpoena if she does not schedule an interview with the committee for its investigation into the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan, according to a letter confirmed to the <em>Washington Examiner <\/em>by the committee\u2019s spokesperson. This renewed call comes after Psaki included a falsehood in her book about Biden\u2019s behavior at a ceremony for U.S. soldiers killed during the withdrawal. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs a private citizen, willing and able to publish a memoir on her tenure as White House Press Secretary, I encourage Ms. Psaki to refrain from relying on thin legal arguments to dodge her responsibility to appear before Congress,\u201d McCaul wrote to Psaki\u2019s lawyer Emily Loeb on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Committee will not tolerate Ms. Psaki\u2019s continued obstruction of its critical investigation,\u201d McCaul said.<\/p>\n<p>In her book, Psaki noted Biden did not look at his watch during the ceremony for soldiers. However, photographs from the <em>Associated Press<\/em> show he looked at his watch.
