On the heels of the second anniversary of the <em>Dobbs <\/em>Supreme Court decision, which returned the right to protect unborn children to the people and their elected representatives, abortion is guaranteed to be front and center as an election issue.<\/p>\n<p>Biden and the Democrats are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2024\/05\/13\/politics\/abortion-ads-democratic-group-trump\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">spending millions of dollars<\/a> on attack ads centered around abortion. Vice President Harris travels the country as Biden\u2019s abortion czar and <a href=\"https:\/\/sbaprolife.org\/newsroom\/press-releases\/vp-harris-panders-abortion-giant-planned-parenthood-latest-stop-abortions-around-america-tour\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">campaigned at an abortion center<\/a>. Failing on everything else, they think this issue is their silver bullet. They even believe it gives them a shot at flipping Florida blue.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2-long d-flex justify-content-center\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-25631696\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1379703300879-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-b61d293da458cdd84d52405b923d1bf3 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-b61d293da458cdd84d52405b923d1bf3\"><\/div>\n<p>Yet the Democrats have a big vulnerability, one that plays right to Donald Trump\u2019s strengths.<\/p>\n<p>Independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. put a glaring spotlight on this weakness when he said in an <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/05\/10\/robert-f-kennedy-jr-endorses-democrats-unpopular-abortion-until-birth-agenda\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">interview<\/a> that he supported \u201cfull-term\u201d abortion. Amid blowback from the Trump campaign and many others, he <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/RobertKennedyJr\/status\/1789121919951704481?lang=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">walked it back<\/a>, but not before Biden\u2019s camp <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/rfk-jr-explains-change-full-term-abortion-stance-basically-killing-child\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">chimed in<\/a>, \u201cThe president doesn\u2019t <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/the-senators-have-no-clothes\/\" title=\"Senators are naked.\">support full-term abortions<\/a>, as he\u2019s made clear many times. He thinks <em>Roe<\/em> [[<em>v. Wade<\/em>]got it right.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The debate is a prime opportunity to clarify for voters: Got <em>what <\/em>right?<\/p>\n<p>Team Biden knows \u201cfull-term\u201d abortion is unpopular. <a href=\"https:\/\/harvardharrispoll.com\/key-results-november-3\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Three-quarters of voters<\/a> would limit abortion by 15 weeks of pregnancy, a point when babies <a href=\"https:\/\/lozierinstitute.org\/fetal-development\/weeks-15-and-16\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">feel pain<\/a>, at the latest. Yet Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/sbaprolife\/status\/1666804672605347841\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">won\u2019t say what limits<\/a>, if any, he actually does support. He rarely says the word \u201cabortion\u201d at all.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-a06e577fbdc1860d2658c37ff9b985eb fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-a06e577fbdc1860d2658c37ff9b985eb\"><\/div>\n<p>The media mostly let this artful dodgery slide, but Trump can expose Biden\u2019s extremism and make it front-page news.<\/p>\n<p>Many Americans, if they thought about <em>Roe<\/em>, thought it placed some kind of limit on abortion. Little did they realize the court also wrote a broad health exception that day that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsweek.com\/dc-abortion-pictures-reveal-uncomfortable-truths-opinion-1698021\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">included<\/a> \u201call factors \u2014 physical, emotional, psychological, familial, and the woman\u2019s age.\u201d Just like that,<em> Roe <\/em>allowed for painful second- and third<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/inside-the-abortion-academia-industrial-complex-that-youve-probably-never-heard-of\/\" title=\"Inside The Abortion-Academia Industrial Complex That You\u2019ve Probably Never Heard Of\">-trimester abortions<\/a> for any reason. To this day, the United States is <a href=\"https:\/\/lozierinstitute.org\/gestational-limits-on-abortion-in-the-united-states-compared-to-international-norms\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">one of eight countries \u2014 alongside China and Vietnam<\/a> \u2014 with <em>no<\/em> federal limits at any point in pregnancy.<\/p>\n<p>Even the abortion industry concedes most late-term abortions <a href=\"https:\/\/onlinelibrary.wiley.com\/doi\/full\/10.1363\/4521013\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">aren\u2019t for medical reasons<\/a>. One late-term abortionist in business for 50 years <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theatlantic.com\/politics\/archive\/2023\/05\/dr-warren-hern-abortion-post-roe\/674000\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">brazenly admits<\/a> carrying out <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/McCormackJohn\/status\/1658246427540180993\/photo\/2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">more than one abortion<\/a> just because someone wanted a boy instead of a girl, or vice versa. In his view, every pregnancy is a health risk that justifies abortion \u2014 even as late as 22, 25, or 30 weeks.<\/p>\n<p>Colleen McNicholas, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/canadas-ontario-finds-two-cases-of-virus-variant-first-seen-in-uk\/\" title=\"Canada\u2019s Ontario finds two cases of virus variant first seen in UK\">chief medical officer<\/a> for Planned Parenthood\u2019s Missouri branch, <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/sbaprolife\/status\/1666804687054708736\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">testified to Congress<\/a> in 2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/opinion\/healthcare\/4182865-yes-late-term-abortions-are-real-and-they-happen-every-day\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">that<\/a> her \u201cpractice includes [abortion] through the point of viability and \u2026 that could be at any point\u201d or no point. In suburbs like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2022\/09\/01\/1120124723\/an-all-trimester-abortion-clinic-prepares-to-open-in-maryland-one-of-few-nationa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">College Park, Maryland<\/a>,\u00a0and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/world-nation\/story\/2023-08-14\/beverly-hills-abortion-rights-clinic-late-trimester-california-image-abortion-haven\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Beverly Hills, California<\/a>, abortion businesses continue seeking to open \u201call-trimester\u201d facilities after <em>Dobbs.<\/em><\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-4b57b8c24526ca1625f11e2332ff25c7 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-10\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-4b57b8c24526ca1625f11e2332ff25c7\"><\/div>\n<p>So what exactly does Biden think <em>Roe<\/em> \u201cgot right\u201d \u2014 discriminatory sex-selection abortions? Partial-birth abortions (federally outlawed in 2003, but <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/2021\/05\/xavier-becerra-lies-about-partial-birth-abortion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">members of his cabinet ignore that<\/a>)? Live dismemberment of babies old enough to undergo life-saving surgery in the womb and receive anesthesia for pain? How many weeks is too late? He never specifies. Neither does Harris, who had several chances in a network interview to name her specific limit and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/kamala-harris-stumbles-question-abortion-limits-she-doesnt-answer\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">repeatedly declined<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>If Biden were only trying to resurrect <em>Roe<\/em>,\u00a0that would be bad enough. But it\u2019s worse. Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/statements-releases\/2022\/05\/11\/statement-from-president-biden-on-the-senate-vote-on-the-womens-health-protection-act\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">backs<\/a> the so-called Women\u2019s Health Protection Act (an Orwellian title) and urged Congress to \u201cput it on my desk, so I can sign it into law.\u201d This bill would overturn commonsense protections for babies and women in every state and force all-trimester abortion on the whole nation.<\/p>\n<p>Even fellow Democrat Joe Manchin <a href=\"https:\/\/theweek.com\/abortion-law\/1013471\/manchin-joins-republicans-to-kill-senate-abortion-bill\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">called him out<\/a>: \u201cThey\u2019re trying to make people believe that this is the same thing as codifying <em>Roe v. Wade<\/em>. And I want you to know, it\u2019s not. This is not the same. It expands abortion.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, Biden and other pro-abortion Democrats <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/marjoriesba\/status\/1785112184072130999\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">like Nancy Pelosi<\/a> have made clear that, upon taking complete control in Washington, they will <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2022\/06\/30\/world\/europe\/biden-nato-jan-6.html?smtyp=cur&#038;smid=tw-nytimes\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">destroy the Senate filibuster<\/a> to impose their agenda. This is one of the longstanding checks and balances that allow the minority party to at least have a voice and not be trampled entirely. They\u2019re that radical.<\/p>\n<p>Kennedy <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/rfk-jr-explains-change-full-term-abortion-stance-basically-killing-child\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">may have had his eyes opened<\/a> on the inhumane reality of late-term abortion in America. Let\u2019s hope so. His latest evolution <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/rfk-jr-explains-change-full-term-abortion-stance-basically-killing-child\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">supports limits at viability<\/a>, while his own running mate would prefer <a href=\"https:\/\/us.cnn.com\/2024\/05\/16\/politics\/nicole-shanahan-robert-kennedy-abortion\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">15-18 weeks<\/a>. But he is unlikely to qualify for the debate. Most likely, it will be Trump and Biden, mano a mano.<\/p>\n<p>One of the most powerful moves Trump can make is to hold Biden\u2019s feet to the fire on where he draws the line on abortion (at any time up to and including the birth of the child) and contrast Biden\u2019s position with support for a reasonable minimum standard with exceptions as he has in the past. Biden shouldn\u2019t struggle to answer the question, \u201cWhat are <em>your <\/em>exceptions?\u201d \u2014 if indeed he has any.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-13abfb2b32d70e53092dbed01d7d96d9 fdrlst__b89e9-after-post-content\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-13abfb2b32d70e53092dbed01d7d96d9\"><\/div>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\">    \t\t\t\t\t   \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n<p><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Former President Trump and President Biden are scheduled to debate in late June 2024.
