The debate highlights conflicting views on gender identity and sports equity.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p><?xml encoding=\"utf-8\" ?><?xml encoding=\"utf-8\" ?><?xml encoding=\"utf-8\" ?><\/p>\n<div class=\"article-content\">\n<p>The National \u201cWomen\u2019s\u201d Law Center (NWLC) has <a href=\"https:\/\/nwlc.org\/resource\/nwlc-joins-lawsuit-defending-trans-inclusion-in-college-sports\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">petitioned<\/a> a federal court in Georgia to intervene as a defendant in the blockbuster case of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailysignal.com\/2024\/03\/21\/sweet-16-different-sort-16-female-athletes-sue-ncaa-bar-transgender-competitors\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">16 college female athletes<\/a> against the National Collegiate Athletic Association, <em>Gaines, et al. v. NCAA, et al<\/em>. <\/p>\n<p>In a direct slam to NCAA President Charlie Baker\u2019s crackpot legal team, the NWLC boasts in a <a href=\"https:\/\/nwlc.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/Memorandum-of-Law-in-Support-of-Motion-to-Intervene.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">May 6 filing<\/a> that it alone can save the day for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/new-data-emerges-of-1100-adolescent-gender-affirming-mastectomies\/\" title=\"New Data Emerges Of 1,100+ Adolescent \u2018Gender Affirming\u2019 Mastectomies\">trans-identifying males<\/a> like Lia Thomas and allow them to continue competing in women\u2019s college sports: <\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2-long d-flex justify-content-center\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-292339187\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1379703300879-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-c86cfbfef453fe9c4211669f11f19306 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-c86cfbfef453fe9c4211669f11f19306\"><\/div>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>Whereas none of the existing parties to this case can adequately defend the claims at issue in this suit, NWLC can.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>By petitioning the court to take the side <em>against<\/em> female athletes, the NWLC commits the ultimate hypocrisy. \u201cTranswomen are Women\u201d is the self-righteous trope it proclaims as it crusades to elevate males who desire to be females as the new \u201cwomen.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Established in the heyday of the 1970s women\u2019s rights movement, this activist institution has for decades operated as if it owns the turf of women\u2019s rights. But the 21st-century version of the NWLC has sold out women to the radical left\u2019s gender ideology agenda, elevating protections based on \u201cidentity\u201d and erasing women\u2019s rights based on sex.<\/p>\n<p>Today, the NWLC aggressively promotes legal rights for males who feel like women to claim female status. In this new \u201csisterhood,\u201d the rights of women to the safety and privacy of sex-separated spaces, including women\u2019s locker rooms, domestic violence shelters, and prisons, are eradicated. And women\u2019s sports? They become dominated by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/lauren-boebert-declares-emma-weyant-rightful-winner-in-race-against-trans-swimmer\/\" title=\"Lauren Boebert Declares Emma Weyant 'Rightful Winner' in Race Against Trans Swimmer\">mediocre male athletes<\/a> who \u201cfeminize\u201d their appearance with hopes of acceptance in the girl\u2019s club, while they crush their female competition to claim championships.  <\/p>\n<p>Responding to the nonsense that a man who wants to be a woman can actually become one, Riley Gaines, the University of Kentucky All-American swimmer and lead plaintiff in the case against the NCAA, aptly <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Riley_Gaines_\/status\/1703467944293134591\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">replies<\/a>, \u201cHot Dogs are Dogs.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-fcaadb82752e645ae8f6602b80e2cce9 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-fcaadb82752e645ae8f6602b80e2cce9\"><\/div>\n<p>It\u2019s not the first time this lawfare organization has thrown its hips into the female sports debate or stood in opposition to female athletes. At a congressional hearing on protecting female athletics and Title IX, NWLC President Fatima Goss Graves <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2023\/12\/05\/president-of-lgbtq-advocate-group-says-women-should-learn-to-lose-gracefully-to-trans-competitors\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">lectured<\/a> that female athletes should learn to \u201close gracefully\u201d to make room for males like Lia Thomas in their sports. In the view of this \u201cwomen\u2019s\u201d law center, it\u2019s perfectly legitimate for a male to waltz into women\u2019s sports as a transgender athlete and take home trophies.<\/p>\n<p>NWLC\u2019s position is the ultimate insult to every <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/female-national-champion-wrestler-joe-biden-is-letting-males-invade-young-girls-spaces\/\" title=\"Female National Champion Wrestler: Joe Biden Is \u2018Letting Males Invade Young Girls\u2019 Spaces\u2019\">young female athlete<\/a> who is getting up early, training hard, and missing other events in life to excel in her sport. These girls have no problem losing gracefully to other <em>girls <\/em>in their sports.<\/p>\n<p>Title IX was passed to ensure female student-athletes had equal opportunity in sports reflecting the enduring differences between the sexes. Physiological distinctions between male and female bodies emerge from the earliest phases of fetal development. These differences cannot be erased by feminizing appearances, pumping puberty blockers, or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/father-arrested-jailed-for-contempt-after-referring-to-his-daughter-as-she\/\" title=\"Father Arrested, Jailed For Contempt After Referring To His Daughter As \u2018She\u2019\">taking cross-sex hormones<\/a> to deplete testosterone.<\/p>\n<p>But the NWLC has sold out to an ideology that denies these truths. It wants to become front and center in this landmark female athlete lawsuit \u2014 on the wrong side of women. It claims it can better argue the case for why Lia Thomas\u2019 penis should be welcome in the female locker room \u2014and why the same Thomas who <a href=\"https:\/\/www.megynkelly.com\/2024\/05\/20\/riley-gaines-locker-room-with-lia-thomas\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">competed for three years<\/a> on the University of Pennsylvania\u2019s men\u2019s team as Will has every right to change his identity and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/college-sports\/story\/_\/id\/33529775\/amid-protests-pennsylvania-swimmer-lia-thomas-becomes-first-known-transgender-athlete-win-division-national-championship\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">win<\/a> an NCAA national championship in women\u2019s swimming.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-e78592497494d14b3934a85372d93454 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-10\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-e78592497494d14b3934a85372d93454\"><\/div>\n<p>The NCAA needs the cover of a \u201cwomen\u2019s\u201d trans-activist group to give it any hope of avoiding a fatal defeat in this case. The NWLC makes the perfect foil to deny real women their rights. How could a judge rule against the NCAA for sex discrimination when a \u201cwomen\u2019s\u201d group is the one peddling the delusion that \u201ctranswomen are women\u201d with a straight face?<\/p>\n<p>The vast majority of American voters see this push for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/theres-no-such-thing-as-a-woman-man-crowned-glamour-brazils-woman-of-the-year\/\" title=\"\u2018There\u2019s No Such Thing As A Woman\u2019: Man Crowned Glamour Brazil\u2019s \u2018Woman Of The Year\u2019\">trans-identifying men<\/a> in women\u2019s sports as a disgrace. \u201cGirl dads\u201d know their daughters can\u2019t fairly (or safely) compete against the natural strength of a male athlete, even if he\u2019s doping on estrogen and not working out so he doesn\u2019t appear too strong. Nor should they be confronted by his nudity in the locker room.<\/p>\n<p>But other high-profile foils are on hand to boost the NCAA\u2019s tenuous position, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/sports\/megan-rapinoe-others-urge-ncaa-not-ban-trans-athletes-womens-sports\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">including<\/a> former athlete Megan Rapinoe, new Seattle Storm owner Sue Bird, and University of South Carolina head coach Dawn Staley. They\u2019ve become pin-up girls defending sex discrimination against female athletes. I dare each to roster a trans-identifying male on a women\u2019s elite team. What kind of storm would Sue Bird ignite by hiring a trans-identifying male in Seattle?<\/p>\n<p>The future of NCAA women\u2019s sports is on the line in this important lawsuit brought by champion female athletes taking the arrows for all those they represent. With the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usnews.com\/news\/education-news\/articles\/2024-04-09\/naia-bans-transgender-women-athletes-ahead-of-new-title-ix-regulations\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">revising its policy<\/a> to protect women\u2019s sports, the NCAA has its back against the wall.
