Willis celebrated her\u2064 win\u200b with a reference to Grey\u2063 Goose and emphasized her dedication to ongoing hard work.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><strong>ATLANTA \u2014<\/strong> Two major figures in former President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/donald-trump\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Donald Trump\">Donald Trump<\/a>\u2018s Georgia election interference trial easily bested <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/primaries\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Donald Trump\">primary challengers<\/a> Tuesday night.<\/p>\n<p>Fulton County District Attorney <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/fani-willis\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Fani Willis\">Fani Willis<\/a> and Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee handily won their races, meaning they\u2019re likely to remain in office beyond January in the heavily Democratic jurisdiction. The <em>Associated Press<\/em> called both races less than an hour after polls closed at 7 p.m. Eastern.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe DA\u2019s drinking Grey Goose, in case anybody\u2019s wondering,\u201d Willis said at the end of her victory speech. \u201cWe got a different kind of DA down here in the dirty, dirty South! Willis made her case to voters on election eve with an appearance on Rachel Maddow\u2019s MSNBC show.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI need Fulton County voters to get out and vote,\u201d Willis <a href=\"https:\/\/www.msnbc.com\/rachel-maddow\/watch\/fani-willis-blasts-clown-jim-jordan-and-maga-followers-for-trying-to-interfere-in-trump-case-211288645701\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"told\">told<\/a> Maddow. \u201cI need people around the country to support me big and small, to say that we are going to be a country that still believes in the rule of law.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She was in a celebratory mood Tuesday night, saying she was \u201cso humbled and so grateful to the citizens of Fulton County who made this possible.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure><figcaption>Former Special prosecutor Nathan Wade arrives before Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis speaks after winning the Democratic primary on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, in Buckhead, Ga.
