Chip Roy (R-TX), whose version of the legislation <a href=\"https:\/\/cha.house.gov\/_cache\/files\/9\/4\/9481c1c3-fbbe-43da-be01-8160304debbd\/7B3AAB700E4EC1DBC9A2D00FF651F2B8.notice-5.23.24.pdf.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">may be considered<\/a> by a committee later this week, fired back at PolitiFact on X while taking a shot at the Biden administration for its handling of the migrant crisis.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhether it\u2019s at the DMV or welfare offices, non-citizens have myriad opportunities to register to vote, as non-citizens are obviously eligible for government benefits under current federal and state policies,\u201d Roy <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/RepChipRoy\/status\/1792963711805853842\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a> in a thread on X.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBiden\u2019s mass release of millions of illegal aliens into the U.S. \u2013 including over 1 million via parole \u2013 will only make this worse,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut even if the ideological operatives at Politi-\u2018fact\u2019 want to torture the statistics to say that this somehow isn\u2019t a problem, then nobody should mind if we put safeguards in place to prevent it from becoming one \u2014 that is, unless you actually want noncitizens voting in federal elections,\u201d Roy concluded.<\/p>\n<p>Sen.
