Heaton, known for her role in the sitcom <em>Everybody Loves Raymond<\/em>, said she did not understand the controversy herself, noting how the speech\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ideology-trumps-entertaining-now-quentin-tarantino-slams-hollywood-for-virtue-signaling-instead-of-entertaining\/\" title=\"\u2018Ideology Trumps Entertaining Now\u2019: Quentin Tarantino Slams Hollywood For Virtue Signaling Instead Of Entertaining\">audience applauded<\/a> several times while Butker was talking.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t understand why everybody\u2019s knickers are in a twist. He gave a commencement speech,\u201d Heaton said in an Instagram video. \u201cThe audience applauded twice during the speech and gave him a standing ovation at the end, so clearly they enjoyed what he was saying.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote data-instgrm-captioned data-instgrm-permalink=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/reel\/C7Hh5UCOUi-\/?utm_source=ig_embed&#038;utm_campaign=loading\" data-instgrm-version=\"14\"><\/blockquote>\n<p>Heaton added that Butker was simply \u201cespousing his own opinions\u201d during his speech and was also speaking Catholic doctrine at a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/catholic\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Catholic<\/a> school. The actress is a Catholic herself and contended that Butker \u201cwent after bishops much more than he went after women.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI find nothing offensive about what he said, even though my life is very different, and he might even look at my life and say that\u2019s not the way it should be,\u201d Heaton said. \u201cThat\u2019s OK. That\u2019s his opinion. God has used my life, so I\u2019m just curious as to why people get offended.
