Though the deportation of illegal immigrants appears to have wide public support, the poll also found that just over half of respondents, 54 percent, oppose the use of detention facilities for illegal immigrants ahead of their deportation.<\/p>\n<p>The poll, which was conducted online and sampled 3,208 registered voters across the country, is one of many recent public opinion surveys addressing immigration that could spell trouble for incumbent President Joe Biden.<\/p>\n<p>One poll found that only <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/voters-say-immigration-is-top-issue-facing-country-biden-faces-widespread-disapproval-on-immigration\">36 percent of voters<\/a> approve of Biden\u2019s performance on immigration while another <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/majority-of-americans-support-building-border-wall-increasing-deportations-penalizing-businesses-that-hire-illegal-immigrants\">poll<\/a> found that a majority of Americans support increasing deportations, building a wall on the southern border, and penalizing businesses that hire illegal immigrants.<\/p>\n<p>The Democrat incumbent has presided over an unprecedented crisis on the southern border, with over 9.5 million <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbp.gov\/newsroom\/stats\/nationwide-encounters\">nationwide encounters<\/a> and 1.7 million <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/biden-admin-may-have-lost-track-millions-of-migrants-crossing-southern-border-congressional-report\">estimated illegal immigrant gotaways<\/a> recorded under his term. Now voters have indicated that they <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/more-americans-trust-trump-over-biden-to-handle-economy-immigration-crime\">trust Trump<\/a> to handle immigration more than they trust Biden, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/poll-just-20-percent-of-voters-say-united-states-has-control-over-its-borders\">only 20 percent<\/a> say that they believe that the United States currently has control over its own borders.<\/p>\n<p>Even illegal crossings at the northern border spiked to a new record in 2023, and the data from the 2024 fiscal year reveal that the United States is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/illegal-crossings-at-northern-border-set-to-break-2023-record\">on track<\/a> to see an even higher number of illegal northern border crossings this year.
