Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Katie Britt (R-AL), is to discourage states from prohibiting access to IVF services.<\/p>\n<p>If enacted, the legislation would amend the Social Security Act to require that states do not block IVF services as a condition to receive federal Medicaid funding.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIVF has given miraculous hope to millions of Americans, and it has given families across the country the gift of children,\u201d Cruz said in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cruz.senate.gov\/newsroom\/press-releases\/sens-cruz-britt-introduce-legislation-protecting-ivf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">statement<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Britt said the legislation \u201caffirms both life and liberty \u2014 family and freedom, and I look forward to working with my colleagues to enact it into law.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Senate Republicans <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/congress-ivf-access-abortion-alabama-bill-ruling-7f68248f36900d4583d9b181f3b4e380\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">previously blocked<\/a> legislation from their Democrat colleagues that would have established a federal right to IVF treatments.<\/p>\n<p>The AP <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/congress-ivf-access-abortion-alabama-bill-ruling-7f68248f36900d4583d9b181f3b4e380\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a> many GOP lawmakers do not want the federal government to meddle with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/politics\/policy\/ivf-embryo-personhood-abortion-bills-rulings-7ed8b0f8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/arkansas-legislature-approves-bill-for-monument-to-the-unborn\/\" title=\"Arkansas Legislature Approves Bill for \u2018Monument to the Unborn\u2019\">state-level decisions<\/a><\/a> on reproductive care after <em>Roe v.
