former President Donald Trump\u2019s company before the 2016 election.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/msnbc-legal-analyst-forced-admit-trumps-attorney-scored-moment-real-triumph-cohen-questioning\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Trump\u2019s former personal attorney<\/a> made the admission as he was cross-examined by Trump\u2019s legal team in Manhattan District Attorney <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/alvin-braggs-top-trump-prosecutor-comes-official-investigation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alvin Bragg\u2019s<\/a> ongoing \u201chush money\u201d trial against Trump.<\/p>\n<p>Cohen, Bragg\u2019s star witness, had previously claimed he had paid money out of his own pocket to make a claim of an alleged affair between Trump and former adult film actress <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/judge-merchan-refuses-let-trump-fire-back-stormy-daniels-testimony-wont-modify-gag-order\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Stormy Daniels<\/a> go away.<\/p>\n<p>The convicted felon, who has been accused of perjury by House Republicans, admitted on the stand Monday that he stole $30,000 from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/report-manhattan-district-attorney-formally-charge-trump-organization-crimes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Trump Organization<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2024\/05\/20\/trump-trial-end-looms-in-hush-money-case.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NBC News<\/a> reported that while being cross-examined on the stand by current Trump attorney Todd Blanche, Cohen was asked about a $50,000 payout that was supposed to go to a tech firm called Red Finch, which have previously done business with Trump\u2019s company.<\/p>\n<p>The company was owed $50,000, but Cohen only paid the firm $20,000 to keep its owner happy.<\/p>\n<p>He pocketed the remaining $30,000, he admitted under oath.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trump-moves-dismiss-charges-legal-team-files-another-devastating-motion-just-jack-smith\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Blanche<\/a> asked Cohen, \u201cYou did steal from the Trump Organization, correct?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cohen responded, \u201cYes, sir.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"firefly-poll-container\">\n<p>Is Trump being persecuted?<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Cohen added that while he kept 60 percent of a cash payout that was supposed to go to Red Finch, the firm\u2019s owner had been \u201cplacated for the time being.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cohen\u2019s admission of embezzlement from his employer\u2019s company comes amid existing questions about his credibility as Bragg\u2019s star witness.<\/p>\n<p>Bragg\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ap-new-york-judge-sets-date-trumps-first-criminal-trial\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">controversial prosecution<\/a> of Trump is based on a theory that Cohen paid Daniels and Trump later falsified records in order to reimburse him without arousing suspicion.<\/p>\n<p>Trump has denied any wrongdoing and has also denied he had an affair with Daniels, which she said happened almost two decades ago.<\/p>\n<p>Bragg is seeking to convict Trump on 34 felony counts of alleged business fraud.<\/p>\n<p>In August 2018, Cohen <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/usao-sdny\/pr\/michael-cohen-pleads-guilty-manhattan-federal-court-eight-counts-including-criminal-tax\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pleaded guilty<\/a> to felony counts of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/breaking-president-trump-gives-pardons-to-73-individuals-and-commutes-another-70-sentences-steve-bannon-is-included\/\" title=\"BREAKING: President Trump Gives Pardons to 73 Individuals and Commutes Another 70 Sentences \u2013 Steve Bannon Is Included\">campaign finance violations<\/a> and tax evasion.<\/p>\n<p>He was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/usao-sdny\/pr\/michael-cohen-sentenced-3-years-prison\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sentenced<\/a> to spend three years in federal prison but <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ap-michael-cohen-released-prison-govt-retaliation-planned-book\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">was released<\/a> early during the COVID pandemic when prisons across the country were lowering their populations to minimize infections.<\/p>\n<p>Some have theorized Cohen holds a vendetta against Trump because he was not offered a prominent role in the White House after the 2016 election.<\/p>\n<p>Under oath last week, Cohen told Blanche that he never had any aspirations to secure a high-profile West Wing job for himself after his then-boss was elected, <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/regulation\/court-battles\/4668781-alyssa-farah-griffin-michael-cohen-denying-desire-for-white-house-role\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Hill<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe View\u201d co-host and former Trump White House Director of Strategic Communications <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/view-co-hosts-panic-third-party-candidate-will-bidens-chances-not-time\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alyssa Farah Griffin<\/a> said on CNN last week that Cohen\u2019s claims under oath shocked her.<\/p>\n<p>The former Trump administration official said, \u201cMy jaw hit the floor when I heard him denying that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While Griffin said she never personally heard Cohen ask for a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/la-allows-noncitizens-to-work-government-jobs\/\" title=\"LA Allows Noncitizens to Work Government Jobs\">federal government job<\/a>, it was not a secret he wanted a coveted job in the Trump administration.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[I]t was widely discussed that he was angling for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/breaking-ag-barr-authorizes-federal-prosecutors-to-pursue-substantial-allegations-of-voting-irregularities-before-2020-election-is-certified\/\" title=\"BREAKING: AG Barr Authorizes Federal Prosecutors to Pursue \"Substantial Allegations\" of Voting Irregularities Before 2020 Election is Certified\">attorney general<\/a> or to be White House counsel,\u201d Griffin said. \u201cThat\u2019s, I mean, there\u2019s dozens and dozens of people around Washington who could corroborate that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cohen was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/2-top-republicans-demand-doj-open-criminal-probe-michael-cohen\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">referred for prosecution<\/a> by Republican Reps. Jim Jordan of Ohio and James Comer of Kentucky last week.<\/p>\n<p>In a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland, the pair said Cohen lied when <a href=\"https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/116\/chrg\/CHRG-116hhrg35230\/CHRG-116hhrg35230.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">testifying<\/a> before Congress in 2019.<\/p>\n<p>The duo offered six examples of what they cited as perjury from Cohen.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<div>\n<p><b><i>An Important Message from Our Staff:<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><i><span>In just a few months, the world is going to change forever.
