These controversies\u200b have sparked debates on his impartiality \u2062in court decisions related to\u200d political matters like election challenges.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p><?xml encoding=\"utf-8\" ?><?xml encoding=\"utf-8\" ?><?xml encoding=\"utf-8\" ?><\/p>\n<div class=\"article-content\">\n<p>Far-left activists are so desperate to knock another conservative Supreme Court justice off cases central to their campaign playbook this year that they\u2019ve manufactured another pair of twin scandals to hit a new target: Justice Samuel Alito.<\/p>\n<p>On Sunday, the Daily Beast <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thedailybeast.com\/samuel-alito-sold-anheuser-busch-stock-during-right-wing-boycott-report\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported <\/a>Alito apparently engaged in a scandal when the justice participated in the open stock market. <\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2-long d-flex justify-content-center\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-1134773939\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1379703300879-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-c3aa49405fa11d3e1c6bb87d9c3c1107 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-c3aa49405fa11d3e1c6bb87d9c3c1107\"><\/div>\n<p>\u201cU.S. Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito sold off a chunk of stock in Anheuser-Busch Inbev in August 2023, just as a vicious right-wing boycott campaign of the company was reaching full swing, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/doe-grants-manchin-donors-company-1-million\/\" title=\"DOE Grants Manchin Donor\u2019s Company  Million\">financial disclosure reports<\/a> first spotted by the Substack page Law Dork,\u201d the paper wrote. \u201cThe boycott was ostensibly in reaction to a limited social media partnership between trans influencer Dylan Mulvaney and Bud Light, one of AB-Inbev\u2019s best-selling brands.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to the Daily Beast, the August transaction was completed with \u201csuspicious timing.\u201d But the Mulvaney boycott hit the Belgian beer company in the spring of last year shortly after the influencer\u2019s Bud Light partnership for March Madness went <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/bud-light-partners-trans-activist-dylan-mulvaney-for-march-madness-this-isnt-a-parody\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">viral <\/a>in April, long before Alito\u2019s \u201csuspicious\u201d trade. The immediate boycott over Mulvaney\u2019s sponsorship tanked Anheuser-Busch\u2019s value by $<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2023\/04\/12\/anheuser-busch-down-5b-in-value-amid-dylan-mulvaney-bud-light-controversy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">5 billion<\/a> with the consumer backlash lasting through the <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/05\/25\/bud-lights-brand-is-so-trashed-it-cant-even-give-beer-away-for-free\/\">spring<\/a>. The hit on the company\u2019s stock, however, <a href=\"https:\/\/finance.yahoo.com\/quote\/BUD\/\">peaked <\/a>in late May and had begun to plateau in August before eventually recovering. In other words, Alito sold a couple thousand dollars\u2019 worth of stock months after the height of consumers\u2019 rejection of the popular beer company, but the transaction is still drawing headlines in <a href=\"https:\/\/newrepublic.com\/post\/181736\/samuel-alito-sold-bud-light-stock\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The New Republic<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.the-independent.com\/news\/world\/americas\/us-politics\/samuel-alito-bud-light-shares-b2548028.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Independent<\/a>. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\"> <span class=\"XW5gSILETzlp2N3yK7re9DnZbFCAtv4YVcqP6RBuwOoidQJsxj0akGH1h8f\"><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Alito sold between $1,000 \u2013 $15,000 worth of Anheuser-Busch stock in mid-August 2023. The boycott, as far as I can tell, began in April. August was not the &#8220;height&#8221; of the boycott, as lib media claims. There are no rules prohibiting federal judges from engaging in whatever conduct leftists simply find offensive. It\u2019s probably no coincidence the non-story about Alito\u2019s open stock transaction dropped on the heels of the New York Times raising controversy about an upside-down flag on the justice\u2019s front lawn.<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday, the New York Times <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2024\/05\/16\/us\/justice-alito-upside-down-flag.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">documented <\/a>the manipulated flag at Alito\u2019s home which flew in the turbulent month of President Joe Biden\u2019s inauguration three years ago. The paper quoted supposed ethics experts to depict the banner of distress as a \u201c\u2018Stop the Steal\u2019 Symbol on Display\u201d at the home of the conservative justice now deciding on cases related to former President Donald Trump\u2019s objections to electoral certification. <\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-4021bb878a635eccd80076cfaf2bf98c fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-4021bb878a635eccd80076cfaf2bf98c\"><\/div>\n<p>\u201cWhile the flag was up, the court was still contending with whether to hear a 2020 election case, with Justice Alito on the losing end of that decision,\u201d the Times reported. \u201cIn coming weeks, the justices will rule on two climactic cases involving the storming of the Capitol on Jan. 6, including whether Mr. Trump has immunity for his actions.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Alito said the flag was put up by his wife over a confrontation with a neighbor who put up a disparaging anti-Trump sign. <\/p>\n<p>The paper has at least <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/topic\/person\/samuel-a-alito-jr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">seven <\/a>stories on Alito\u2019s flag, including one in Spanish, wherein the Times is repeatedly questioning Alito\u2019s ability to serve on the court impartially. Federalist Senior Legal Correspondent Margot Cleveland <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/05\/20\/i-researched-judicial-ethics-rules-for-years-heres-why-the-alito-recusal-calls-are-ridiculous\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">explained<\/a> why the demands for Justice Alito to recuse himself from Jan. 6-related cases over the incident hold no ground. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor simplicity\u2019s sake, let\u2019s assume Mrs. Alito placed a \u2018Stop the Steal\u2019 sign in the front yard of the home she shares with her husband. Such a sign would qualify as political activity within the meaning of the various <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/i-researched-judicial-ethics-rules-for-years-heres-why-the-alito-recusal-calls-are-ridiculous\/\" title=\"After Extensive Research, Why Demanding Alito's Recusal Seems Absurd\">ethical codes governing judicial conduct<\/a>,\u201d Cleveland wrote. The sign, she added, \u201cwould clearly fit in the \u2018should not engage in other political activity\u2019 prohibition\u201d outlined in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/dc-bar-panel-recommends-rudy-giuliani-lose-law-licence-over-2020-election-fraud-claims\/\" title=\"DC Bar Panel suggests revoking Rudy Giuliani's law license due to election fraud allegations.\">legal ethics rules<\/a>. \u201cBut it wasn\u2019t Justice Alito who hung the upside-down flag we are hypothesizing was instead a \u2018Stop the Steal\u2019 placard \u2014 it was Mrs. Alito. And the Code of Conduct does not govern a spouse\u2019s actions.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-8739981862e2e55088e4f3202f73c9d2 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-10\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-8739981862e2e55088e4f3202f73c9d2\"><\/div>\n<p>Similar demands for recusal were made against Justice Clarence Thomas whose wife, Ginni, personally petitioned public officials in the Trump White House to protest the results of the 2020 election. Ginni became the target of media smear campaigns and was even <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/09\/29\/ginni-thomas-shuts-down-misconduct-claims-in-voluntary-testimony-before-j6-panel\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">investigated <\/a>by the Democrats\u2019 Select Committee on January 6. Two years ago, former Thomas Law Clerk Wendy Long <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/03\/29\/former-clarence-thomas-clerk-judges-are-never-asked-to-recuse-themselves-over-political-views\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">outlined <\/a>for The Federalist why calls for Justice Thomas to refrain from ruling on election-related cases over spousal activism were inappropriate.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLeftists in Congress and the media hyperventilate over every tidbit showing that Justice Thomas\u2019s wife, Ginni, is involved in national conservative politics \u2014 most recently, that she pushed for integrity in the 2020 election,\u201d Long wrote. \u201cThis isn\u2019t news, and it has nothing to do with Justice Thomas\u2019s ability to be a fair and impartial jurist.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Recusal, Long explained, is determined primarily by the \u201cfinancial, legal, personal, or professional interests of the Justice or a family member,\u201d not personal politics or the politics of a spouse. <\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-28a4d0d050b3106d6f3cc49719bc51ed fdrlst__b89e9-after-post-content\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-28a4d0d050b3106d6f3cc49719bc51ed\"><\/div>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\">    \t\t\t\t\t   \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n<p><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Far-left activists resort to manufacturing scandals to remove conservative Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito from pivotal cases.
