The trial highlighted payment inconsistencies, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/gop-chairwoman-ward-wants-decertification-of-ariz-election-results\/\" title=\"GOP chairwoman Ward wants decertification of Ariz. election results\">raising concerns<\/a> about Cohen&#8217;s credibility and influencing the prosecutors&#8217; case.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p>While testifying Monday at former President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/donald-trump\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Donald Trum<\/a>p\u2019s criminal hush-money trial in New York City, prosecution witness <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/michael-cohen\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Michael Cohen<\/a> admitted he stole from the Trump Organization in 2017.<\/p>\n<p>Cohen, who had worked as Trump\u2019s lawyer and fixer, replied in the affirmative when defense attorney Todd Blanche pressed him on an IT firm he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/poll-rigging-for-trump-and-creating-womenforcohen-one-it-firms-work-order-11547722801\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">hired<\/a> to rig polls, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/live\/2024\/05\/20\/nyregion\/trump-trial-hush-money\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">according to<\/a> The New York Times.<\/p>\n<p>Reporter Maggie Haberman noted in a blog that RedFinch was owed $50,000, but Cohen paid the firm only $20,000 even though he had asked for a $50,000 reimbursement from the Trump Organization.<\/p>\n<p>One of Haberman\u2019s colleagues who joined her in the courtroom said Blanche led a line of questioning that \u201cmakes Cohen sound extra shady,\u201d pressing about him having \u201clike, a duffle bag of cash?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Asked if he stole from the Trump Organization after being repaid more than he was owed \u2014 $100,000 with the money being doubled for tax purposes \u2014 Cohen replied, \u201cYes, sir.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Trump shook his head at the response, per New York Times blog. One post from reporter Susanne Craig called the admission \u201canother big ding to Cohen\u2019s credibility.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Responding to the development in the trial, George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley said in a <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/JonathanTurley\/status\/1792559244308320677\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">post<\/a> to X, \u201cThese are hits below the waterline for Cohen but also the prosecutors.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added, \u201cThey had a man admitting to a major larceny but never charged Cohen.
