There have been widespread <a href=\"https:\/\/www.economist.com\/middle-east-and-africa\/2021\/06\/12\/iran-has-rigged-its-election-to-favour-ebrahim-raisi-a-hardliner\">allegations<\/a> in Iran that Raisi only came to power because of a rigged election.<\/p>\n<p>Abdollahian, 60, was also a hardliner who had close ties to numerous Foreign Terrorist Organizations (FTO), including Iran\u2019s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Lebanon\u2019s Hezbollah, and Palestinian groups Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ).<\/p>\n<p>Interior Minister Ahmad Vahidi said in comments aired on state TV that they were \u201con their way back aboard some helicopters and one of the helicopters was forced to make a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/helicopter-carrying-irans-president-suffers-a-hard-landing-state-tv-says-and-rescue-is-underway\/\" title=\"Iran's president's helicopter makes emergency landing, rescue operation in progress - state TV\">hard landing due<\/a> to the bad weather and fog.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He said that the rescue crews had a difficult time locating and reaching the crash site due to the weather conditions, the rugged terrain in the region, and the loss of light.<\/p>\n<p>The officials were returning from a trip to Azerbaijan early on Sunday where they attended an inauguration of a new dam on the Aras River with Azerbaijan\u2019s President Ilham Aliyev.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cToday, after bidding a friendly farewell to the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ebrahim Raisi, we were profoundly troubled by the news of a helicopter carrying the top delegation crash-landing in Iran,\u201d said Aliyev. \u201cOur prayers to Allah Almighty are with President Ebrahim Raisi and the accompanying delegation.
