Arabia in another boon to Iran\">ongoing conflict<\/a>.\u200c The ICC \u200bplans to target key figures like Yahya Sinwar, Mohammad Deif,\u200c Ismail Haniyeh, Benjamin Netanyahu, and Yoav Gallant. Israel&#8217;s Foreign Minister Israel Katz denounced the decision and \u2062vowed to\u200d fight against it. Other\u200b leaders expressed\u2062 similar outrage\u2064 at the implied comparison between Israeli forces and Hamas.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/israel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Israeli<\/a> officials have rebuked the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/international-criminal-court\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>International Criminal Court\u2019s<\/a> announcement that it is seeking arrest warrants for Israeli and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/hamas\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Hamas<\/a> leaders for the ongoing conflict.<\/p>\n<p>The ICC announced on Monday that it intends to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/world\/3009632\/icc-seeks-arrest-warrants-israeli-hamas-leaders\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>pursue arrest<\/a> warrants against Yahya Sinwar, the head of Hamas in Gaza, Mohammad Deif, the head of the military, and Ismail Haniyeh, the head of their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/israel-ramps-up-strikes-on-top-palestinian-terrorists-targets-homes-destroys-terrorist-bank\/\" title=\"Israel Ramps Up Strikes On Top Palestinian Terrorists: Targets Homes, Destroys Terrorist Bank\">political bureau<\/a>, as well as Israeli Prime Minister <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/benjamin-netanyahu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Benjamin Netanyahu<\/a> and Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant.<\/p>\n<p>Israel\u2019s Foreign Minister Israel Katz called the decision \u201coutrageous\u201d in a statement, adding, \u201cI have instructed the immediate establishment of a special command center at the Foreign Ministry, with all professional entities, aimed at fighting against the decision intended primarily to shackle Israel\u2019s hands and prevent it from exercising its right to self-defense.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The minister expressed dismay at the court\u2019s decision to announce the intention to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/icc-seeks-arrest-warrants-for-israeli-and-hamas-leaders\/\" title=\"ICC requests arrest warrants for Israeli and Hamas leaders\">seek warrants<\/a> against Hamas and Israeli leaders \u201cin the same breath.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile Hamas murderers and rapists commit crimes against humanity against our brothers and sisters, the Prosecutor mentions in the same breath the Prime Minister and Defense Minister of Israel alongside the vile Nazi-like monsters of Hamas \u2014 a historical disgrace that will be remembered forever,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Several other Israeli leaders expressed similar anger at what they described as an implied comparison between the actions of Israeli forces and Hamas.<\/p>\n<p>Benny Gantz, a member of Israel\u2019s war Cabinet, said, \u201cPlacing the leaders of a country that went into battle to protect its citizens, in the same line with bloodthirsty terrorists, is moral blindness and a violation of its duty and ability to protect its citizens.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Israeli President Isaac Herzog reiterated the sentiment, saying, \u201cTaken in bad faith, this one-sided move represents a unilateral political step that emboldens terrorists around the world, and violates all the basic rules of the court according to the principle of complementarity and other legal norms.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAny attempt to draw parallels between these atrocious terrorists and a democratically elected government of Israel \u2014 working to fulfill its duty to defend and protect its citizens entirely in adherence to the principles of international law \u2014 is outrageous and cannot be excepted by anyone,\u201d he added. \u201cWe will not forget who started this war, and who raped, butchered, burned, brutalized, and kidnapped innocent citizens and families.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hamas <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ajc.org\/IsraelHamasWar\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"carried out a multi-pronged attack\">carried out a multipronged attack<\/a> in southern Israel on Oct. 7, killing roughly 1,200 people and taking another 250 people hostage. The majority of the victims were civilians, while many of them were killed in their homes surrounded by their loved ones.<\/p>\n<p>Israel\u2019s military response has lasted for seven months and is ongoing. It has resulted in significant destruction throughout the strip, forced the displacement of most of the population, and the deaths of tens of thousands of people \u2014 civilians and combatants alike.<\/p>\n<p>Chief prosecutor Karim Khan said in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.icc-cpi.int\/news\/statement-icc-prosecutor-karim-aa-khan-kc-applications-arrest-warrants-situation-state\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">statement<\/a> his office has \u201creasonable grounds\u201d to believe that Netanyahu and Gallant were responsible for war crimes and crimes against humanity, including starvation of civilians as a method of warfare, willful killing and murder, intentionally directing attacks against a civilian population, and extermination.<\/p>\n<p>Similarly, he added that his office has \u201creasonable grounds\u201d to believe Hamas leaders \u201cbear criminal responsibility for\u201d war crimes and crimes against humanity.
