It is also looking to obtain arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/benjamin-netanyahu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Benjamin Netanyahu<\/a> and Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant.<\/p>\n<p>A panel of ICC judges will now consider chief prosecutor Karim Khan\u2019s\u00a0application for the arrest warrants.<\/p>\n<p>Khan, in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.icc-cpi.int\/news\/statement-icc-prosecutor-karim-aa-khan-kc-applications-arrest-warrants-situation-state\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>statement<\/a>, said his office has \u201creasonable grounds\u201d to believe the Hamas leaders \u201cbear criminal responsibility for\u201d war crimes and crimes against humanity. Responding To 10+ Homeless Tent Fires A Day\">facing charges<\/a> of extermination as a crime against humanity, murder as a crime against humanity, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/hostage-situation-leaves-2-dead-in-austin-texas\/\" title=\"Hostage situation leaves 2 dead in Austin, Texas\">taking hostages<\/a> as a war crime, rape and other acts of sexual violence, torture, other inhumane acts, cruel treatment, and outrages upon personal dignity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy Office also submits there are reasonable grounds to believe that hostages taken from Israel have been kept in inhumane conditions, and that some have been subject to sexual violence, including rape, while being held in captivity. We have reached that conclusion based on medical records, contemporaneous video and documentary evidence, and interviews with victims and survivors,\u201d the statement continued.<\/p>\n<p>Netanyahu and Gallant are accused of starvation of civilians, willfully causing great suffering, willful killing, intentionally directing attacks against a civilian population, and extermination.<\/p>\n<p>Khan warned that his office could seek more arrest warrants if they determine it\u2019s necessary.<\/p>\n<p>Israeli leaders have denied allegations they are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ilhan-omar-biden-should-back-referring-accused-israeli-officials-to-international-criminal-court\/\" title=\"Ilhan Omar: Biden Should Back Referring Accused Israeli Officials To International Criminal Court\">committing war crimes<\/a>, though all of Gaza\u2019s\u00a02.2\u00a0million residents are facing acute food insecurity due to the war. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Both U.S. and Israeli leaders condemned possible ICC arrest warrants against Israeli leaders last month amid reports that warrants would be handed down. Neither country is a member of the ICC.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe possibility that they will issue arrest warrants for war crimes against IDF commanders and state leaders, this possibility is a scandal on a historic scale,\u201d Netanyahu said last month. U.S. National Security Council coordinator John Kirby said around the same time, \u201cWe don\u2019t believe the\u00a0ICC\u00a0has any jurisdiction here.
