The conditions of the passengers remain unknown.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The president\u2019s briefing comes after conflicting reports that the helicopter, which went down in a rural mountainous area of Iran\u2019s East Azerbaijan province amid heavy fog, rain, and cold weather, has been found.<\/p>\n<p>Citing Iranian state media, <em>Reuters<\/em> reported that the helicopter transporting Raisi, as well as Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian, East Azerbaijan Governor Malek Rahmati, and Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Ale-Hashem, Khamenei\u2019s representative to East Azerbaijan, had been found. Shortly thereafter, Iran\u2019s Red Crescent, which has numerous search teams working in the area, denied the report.<\/p>\n<p>State media also reported that contact was made by some at least two persons on the flight, noting the crash may not be fatal.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis was one of the hopeful points in this. This shows that the severity of the incident was not very high because two of the people who were on the flight contacted our people on several instances,\u201d Mohsen Mansouri, Iranian deputy to the president for executive affairs, reportedly told state television, according to <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/Al-Jazeera\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Al Jazeera<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Most recently, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps reported detecting signals from the mobile phone of a member of the flight crew.<\/p>\n<p>Asghar Abbasgholizadeh, the commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in Eastern <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/Azerbaijan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Azerbaijan<\/a>, reportedly said, \u201cWe are now moving toward the area with all military forces and I hope we can give good news to the people,\u201d according to Tasnim News Agency, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/yes-to-a-democratic-iran-iranians-burn-campaign-posters-refuse-to-vote-in-unprecedented-boycott-of-sham-presidential-election\/\" title=\"\u2018Yes To A Democratic Iran:\u2019 Iranians Burn Campaign Posters, Refuse To Vote In Unprecedented Boycott Of \u2018Sham\u2019 Presidential Election\">semi-official news agency<\/a> of the IRGC.<\/p>\n<p>Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei made a public statement about the crash.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe hope that Almighty God will return the esteemed President and his companions to the nation.
