This \u2064change may impact \u2063the upcoming general election significantly.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<header> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/commentary\/\">  Commentary <\/a>   <span> <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/author\/ccavanaugh\/\">  <\/a> <\/p>\n<p> <span>   By <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/author\/ccavanaugh\/%20\"><span>Connor Cavanaugh<\/span><\/a> <\/span> <span>   May 18, 2024 at 12:28pm <\/span> <\/span>  <\/header>\n<section>\n<p>While younger folks are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/survey-found-most-americans-falling-behind-on-emergency-savings\/\" title=\"Survey reveals majority of Americans lacking emergency savings.\">typically expected<\/a> to lean left \u2014 given their long history of voting for Democrats in the 20th and 21st century \u2014 the abysmal administration of President Joe Biden may be turning the tides on that historic trend.<\/p>\n<p>The youngest voters have long been infamous for both their love of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/op-ed-media-blames-black-problems-racism-deflect-actual-culprit-legacy-liberalism\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">liberalism<\/a> and disdain of conservatism.<\/p>\n<p>Whether it was the hippie movement that heavily involved protests against the war in Vietnam or the modern <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/pro-palestinian-protest-comes-screeching-halt-school-president-publishes-ultimatum\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">anti-Jewish protests<\/a> at colleges, the young minds of America lean toward the blue party.<\/p>\n<p>The youth are also far more likely to buy your standard Democrat lie \u2014 untruths like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/democrats-push-for-student-debt-forgiveness-would-cost-taxpayers-millions\/\" title=\"Democrats push for student debt forgiveness, would cost taxpayers millions\">student loan forgiveness<\/a> and universal healthcare.<\/p>\n<p>Data supports this as well, as an April report from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pewresearch.org\/politics\/2024\/04\/09\/age-generational-cohorts-and-party-identification\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pew Research Center<\/a> found that nearly double the amount of 18- to 24-year-old voters leaned Democrat rather than Republican.<\/p>\n<p>It wasn\u2019t until getting to the 50- to 59-year-olds that they became more right-leaning than left.<\/p>\n<p>Despite this inherent advantage with younger voters, other data shows that Biden may not want to bank on those votes for the 2024 general election.<\/p>\n<p>Research group <a href=\"https:\/\/blueprint2024.com\/polling\/youth-poll-may\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Blueprint<\/a> conducted a poll to find what <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-holds-strong-in-swing-state-polling-as-voters-skeptical-of-biden-economy\/\" title=\"Trump maintains support in swing states despite voter skepticism towards Biden's economic policies\">issues voters found<\/a> most important ahead of the November election.<\/p>\n<p>The poll was conducted from April 27 to April 29, and an online sample of 943 voters aged 18-30 were surveyed by Blueprint. The margin of error is 5.8 percentage points.<\/p>\n<div id=\"firefly-poll-container\">\n<p>Will Donald Trump be the next President of the United States?<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Unsurprisingly, the youth widely leaned towards the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/mike-kelly-same-people-criticizing-trump-peddled-russia-collusion-hoax\/\" title=\"Mike Kelly: Same People Criticizing Trump Peddled Russia Collusion Hoax\">sitting president<\/a> when it came to handle issues such as healthcare and corruption, but there were two major exceptions.<\/p>\n<p>When it came to lowering prices and securing the border, most young voters were on the side of former <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/donald-trump-reveals-plans-barrons-college-education-changed\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">President Donald Trump<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs we\u2019ve already talked about, young voters are much closer ideologically to Joe Biden than they are to Donald Trump,\u201d Evan Roth Smith, the lead pollster for Blueprint, said, per <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/presidential\/3007044\/young-voters-trump-biden-two-defining-issues-2024\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Washington Examiner<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut, the two biggest issues of this election, inflation and immigration, it\u2019s very notable that with young voters \u2014 those are the only places Donald Trump has an advantage.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>To <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/5-financial-bubbles-that-made-gamestop-look-like-nothing\/\" title=\"5 Financial \u2018Bubbles\u2019 That Made Gamestop Look Like Nothing\">make matters worse<\/a> for Biden, when asked what they considered their top issues, topics like inflation and the economy ranked near the very top.<\/p>\n<p>When asked specifically what they wanted to see changed about the economy, the overwhelming majority of respondents (50 percent) said they wanted to see lower prices on goods.<\/p>\n<p>Only 13 percent of those same respondents believe that was something Biden was focused on compared to 32 percent who believe it was something Trump was focused on.<\/p>\n<p>While Trump is still far from popular among the youth, especially those in college, taking away two major issues from Biden is a massive deal in what will assuredly be a competitive general election.<\/p>\n<p>As America continues to edge closer to the election, every vote becomes more and more important.<\/p>\n<p>Any number of voters that typically vote Democrat flipping to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/dozens-democrats-turn-biden-side-republicans-key-vote-send-message\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Republican<\/a> option can easily be a feather in the cap of Trump, and a costly loss for a deeply unpopular incumbent president.<\/p>\n<p>It makes perfect sense this would happen as well.<\/p>\n<p>In 2020, many disenfranchised young people were told (by the media and the left) that they wanted something different from the Trump administration, and that \u201csomething different\u201d was Joseph Robinette Biden Jr.<\/p>\n<p>But now those same young people have lived through the Biden administration and seen that it is objectively worse in every metric compared to the Trump years.<\/p>\n<p>President Biden no longer has the benefit of the doubt and the youth can see that.<\/p>\n<p>When major issues like the economy and border security are present, Americans of all ages need to vote for the candidate who will take a step in the right direction.<\/p>\n<p>That is not Joe Biden.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<div>\n<p><b><i>An Important Message from Our Staff:<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><i><span>We who work here at The Western Journal have fought for years against Big Tech and the elites who want to shut us down and then shut America down. <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span>Make no mistake \u2014 nothing will be the same after November 2024.
