That was a lot of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-environmental-appointee-faces-conflict-of-interest-scrutiny-on-hill\/\" title=\"Biden Environmental Appointee Faces Conflict of Interest Scrutiny on Hill\">high-level officials<\/a> that we needed to confirm to us that he\u2019s really gone. There was no way to beat around the bush,\u201d Maryam Kamalmaz said.<\/p>\n<p>She said officials told her they believe her father\u2019s death occurred years ago, early in his captivity.<\/p>\n<p>In 2020, she said, officials told the family that they had reason to believe that he had died of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/flight-instructor-suffers-heart-attack-dies-air-no-indications-feeling-unwell\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">heart failure<\/a> in 2017, but the family held out hope and U.S. officials continued their pursuit.<\/p>\n<div id=\"firefly-poll-container\">\n<p>Does the U.S. intelligence community do good work?<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>But, she said, \u201cNot until this meeting did they really confirm to us how credible the information is and the different levels of (verification) it had to go through.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She did not describe the intelligence she learned.<\/p>\n<p>Spokespeople for the White House and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ex-fbi-agent-drops-bomb-jan-6-film-fbi-execs-get-paid-arrest-terrorists-set\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">FBI<\/a>, which investigates abductions in foreign countries, did not immediately return messages seeking comment Saturday.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fbi.gov\/wanted\/kidnap\/majd-kamalmaz\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Majd Kamalmaz<\/a> disappeared in February 2017 at the age of 59 while traveling in Syria to visit an elderly family member. The FBI has said he was stopped at a Syrian government checkpoint in a suburb of Damascus and had not been heard from since.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Justice must be served for the murder of American Psychotherapist, Majd Kamalmaz at the hands of the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Syrian?src=hash&#038;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Syrian<\/a> government. But the meeting proved unfruitful, with the Syrians not providing any proof-of-life information and making demands that U.S. officials deemed unreasonable.
