They staged a sit-in at \u200dthe Washington Surgi-Clinic, engaging in nonviolent \u200cprotest actions. Seven\u200b pro-life activists received prison \u2063sentences this week for \u200dprotesting\u2063 at a Washington, D.C., abortion facility in 2020. They breached the\u2062 Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act\u200c and were charged with conspiracy. Sentences varied between 21 \u2062and 57 \u2064months. The activists conducted a peaceful sit-in at the Washington Surgi-Clinic, demonstrating through nonviolent protest methods.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A total of seven pro-life activists were sentenced to prison this week over a protest at a Washington, D.C., <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/abortion\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">abortion<\/a> facility in 2020.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Three activists were sentenced on Tuesday and another four on Wednesday after they were convicted of violating the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act Act and conspiracy against rights, a charge that could have led to over a decade in prison. All seven were prosecuted by the Biden administration after they staged a sit-in at the D.C.-based Washington Surgi-Clinic late-term abortion facility.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">On Wednesday, Jonathan Darnel, Herb Geraghty, Jean Marshall, and Joan Bell were all <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/opa\/pr\/seven-defendants-sentenced-federal-conspiracy-against-rights-and-freedom-access-clinic\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sentenced<\/a> to prison. Darnel got 34 months in prison, Geraghty got 27 months, Marshall got 24 months, and Bell got 27 months. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The sentences followed Tuesday\u2019s sentencing of Lauren Handy to 57 months in prison, as well as John Hinshaw (21 months) and William Goodman (27 months).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">During the protest, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/pro-life-activist-sentenced-to-over-four-years-in-prison-over-protest-at-d-c-abortion-facility\/\" title=\"Pro-Life Activist Gets Four-Year Prison Sentence for D.C. Abortion Facility Protest\">pro-life protesters sang songs<\/a>, prayed, locked arms in front of the facility\u2019s staff entrance, and attached themselves with ropes and chains to block doors inside the building.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>In March 2022, authorities were called to the home of Handy to recover the bodies of five <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/anger-erupts-after-biden-doj-gets-5-pro-life-activists-convicted-thrown-in-jail\/\" title=\"Outrage as Biden DOJ Convicts and Incarcerates 5 Pro-Life Activists.\">premie-size aborted babies<\/a>. Progressive Anti-Abortion Uprising (PAAU) activists previously <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MaryMargOlohan\/status\/1790461280009982275\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a> that they found the box of aborted babies that was on its way from Washington Surgi-Clinic to Curtis Bay Medical Waste Facility to be incinerated. The PAAU activists called police and asked for autopsies on the babies.<\/p>\n<p><b><a href=\"https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" aria-describedby=\"sk-tooltip-9096\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp&#038;source=gmail&#038;ust=1714129450076000&#038;usg=AOvVaw11MUL_oXewNl-yGfGqnuu8\">CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cAs evidenced by today\u2019s sentencings, the FBI and our judicial system will not tolerate the obstruction of civil rights,\u201d said David Sundberg of the FBI Washington Field Office. \u201cThe FBI will continue to investigate FACE Act violations in all jurisdictions, so patients and providers can exercise their right to receive or provide lawful reproductive health care without the threat of violence or intimidation.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Also set to be sentenced over the D.C. protest is 59-year-old Heather Idoni, who was also convicted earlier this year of similar charges over a protest at a Tennessee abortion facility.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">On Thursday, several Republican lawmakers sent a <a href=\"https:\/\/chrissmith.house.gov\/uploadedfiles\/2024-05-16_-_member_letter_on_healthcare_for_marshall_and_idoni.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">letter<\/a> to the Federal Bureau of Prisons and U.S. Marshals Service that Idoni and Marshall were not getting necessary medical treatment while in federal custody.
