It was a very chaotic situation, understandably so considering the tragic accident that had occurred earlier, and there was a big misunderstanding of what I thought I was being asked to do,\u201d the two-time Masters Tournament champion said.<\/p>\n<div id=\"firefly-poll-container\">\n<p>Should the charges against Scottie Scheffler be dropped?<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>\u201cI never intended to disregard any of the instructions,\u201d he added. \u201cI\u2019m hopeful to put this to the side and focus on golf today. Of course, all of us involved in the tournament express our deepest sympathies to the family of the man who passed away in the earlier accident this morning.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Scheffler, who ended Thursday four under par, concluded, \u201cIt truly puts everything in perspective.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Video of Scheffler\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/wild-gets-world-no-1-golfer-scottie-scheffler-detained-police-shortly-pga-championship-tee-time\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">arrest<\/a> went viral on social media:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Here is video that I took of Scheffler being arrested: <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/8UPZKvPCCf\">https:\/\/t.co\/8UPZKvPCCf<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/9Tbp2tyrJh\">pic.twitter.com\/9Tbp2tyrJh<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Jeff Darlington (@JeffDarlington) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JeffDarlington\/status\/1791428598080938492?\">May 17, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>According to ESPN\u2019s Jeff Darlington, Scheffler used a median to drive around the crash scene.<\/p>\n<p>He drove between 10 and 20 yards after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/pelosis-no-help-ex-capitol-police-officer-who-lied-about-jan-6-loses-badly-in-humiliating-defeat\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a police officer<\/a> told him to stop.<\/p>\n<p>After Scheffler rolled down his window to talk to the officer, he was grabbed by the arm and detained.<\/p>\n<p>An attorney for the golfer told ESPN that his client had no idea there had been a death near the entrance of the golf club.<\/p>\n<p>Scheffler was released from jail at 8:40 a.m., less than 90 minutes before his scheduled 10:08 a.m. tee time.<\/p>\n<p>The star golfer made that tee time to an uproarious response from onlookers and fans.<\/p>\n<p>As of this publication, he is one-under through the first three holes.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<div>\n<p><b><i>An Important Message from Our Staff:<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><i><span>In just a few months, the world is going to change forever.
