More \u200bnominees are expected to \u200dreceive approval next week.\u200b Biden&#8217;s emphasis on diversity in judicial \u200dselections is reshaping the court landscape.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The Senate could approve President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/joe-biden\/\">Joe Biden\u2019s<\/a> 200th federal judge next week, a pace that outstrips former President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/donald-trump\/\">Donald Trump\u2019s<\/a> appointments at this point in his term.<\/p>\n<p>Majority Leader <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/chuck-schumer\/\">Chuck Schumer<\/a> (D-NY) has moved 197 judges across the Senate floor and on Monday will confirm Biden\u2019s 198th: Seth Robert Aframe, an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/remembering-judge-janice-rogers-brown-the-black-woman-biden-blocked-from-the-scotus\/\" title=\"Remembering Judge Janice Rogers Brown, the Black Woman Biden Blocked From the SCOTUS\">appeals court nominee<\/a> for the First Circuit.<\/p>\n<p>Schumer filed cloture on two others, for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/schumer-says-biden-admin-must-restore-the-balance-to-the-bench-after-horrible-trump-judicial-appointments\/\" title=\"Schumer Says Biden Admin Must \u2018Restore The Balance To The Bench\u2019 After \u2018Horrible\u2019 Trump Judicial Appointments\">district court seats<\/a> in Arizona, before the Senate left on Thursday, meaning they will in all likelihood be approved next week. Each received <a href=\"https:\/\/www.judiciary.senate.gov\/press\/releases\/senate-judiciary-committee-advances-ten-nominations-to-the-full-senate\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>bipartisan support<\/a> in the Judiciary Committee last month.<\/p>\n<p>The milestone would represent a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heritage.org\/judicialtracker\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/california-secy-of-state-leaves-trump-on-presidential-primary-ballot\/\" title=\"California Secretary of State excludes Trump from Presidential Primary ballot\">break-neck pace<\/a><\/a> for the president. At this point in his presidency, Barack Obama had confirmed 147, while Biden eclipsed Trump\u2019s 193 in April.<\/p>\n<p>Democrats are locked out of a Supreme Court majority for the foreseeable future. But Biden, in partnership with a Democratic majority in the Senate, has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/white-house\/2989071\/biden-remaking-courts-counter-trump\/\">remade the courts<\/a> in more subtle ways.<\/p>\n<p>The president has emphasized appointing female and minority judges to the federal bench.<\/p>\n<p>The absence of Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ), in Manhattan for the second corruption trial of his career, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/senate\/3003559\/menendez-trial-schumer-biden-judges\/\">complicates<\/a> Schumer\u2019s ability to move judges, as does a so-called \u201cpocket veto\u201d from Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV), who has pledged not to support any nominee who cannot <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/congress-battles-biden-admin-in-bid-to-ban-iranian-president-from-us-soil\/\" title=\"Congress Battles Biden Admin in Bid To Ban Iranian President From US Soil\">attract bipartisan support<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In a chamber Schumer controls by a single vote, each is needed for more controversial judges. There are four circuit court nominees who cleared the Judiciary Committee without a single GOP vote, while seven district court nominees approved along party lines are ready for floor action.<\/p>\n<p>The overwhelming majority of Biden\u2019s judges have received some level of bipartisan support. Many were approved by voice vote, while others attracted a handful of crossover votes from centrist Republicans.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday, Sens. Susan Collins (R-ME) and Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) were the only Republicans to support a procedural vote\u00a0on Aframe\u2019s nomination.<\/p>\n<p>But Biden has received more attention for the controversial nominees he has put forward, some of whom lack Democratic support. <\/p>\n<p>Michael Delaney, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/white-house\/2728467\/schumer-backs-biden-appeals-court-nominee-despite-democratic-scrutiny\/\">scrutinized<\/a> for his handling of a sexual assault lawsuit, was forced to withdraw his appeals court nomination, while one current nominee, Adeel Mangi, is opposed by at least three Democrats over his association to an \u201canti-police\u201d group.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\"><strong>CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The elimination of the judicial filibuster is one reason for the pace of appointments.
