An incident \u200cinvolving a Jordanian national, possibly on the watchlist, occurred at Quantico, with no official confirmation from \u200bthe \u2064base.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p>The Biden administration on Wednesday refused to reveal the nationalities of individuals on the terrorist watchlist who were arrested crossing the border \u2014 on the same day it was revealed that an illegal immigrant on the list was arrested for attempting to infiltrate the Quantico Marine Corps base in Virginia.<\/p>\n<p>The Department of Homeland Security denied a Freedom Of Information Act request for the data from Fox News reporter Bill Melugin, writing, \u201cThe privacy interests of the individuals in the records you have requested outweigh any minimal public interest in disclosure of the information. Any private interest you may have in that information does not factor into the aforementioned balancing test.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Melugin said on X that DHS was citing exemptions \u201cthat have nothing to do with my FOIA request,\u201d saying that he \u201cdid not ask for any names, IDs, addresses, anything that would breach privacy, nor did I ask for any <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/u-s-customs-and-border-protection-deletes-its-reports-about-potential-terrorist-arrest-in-arizona\/\" title=\"U.S. Customs and Border Protection Deletes Its Reports about \u2018Potential Terrorist\u2019 Arrest in Arizona\">law enforcement sensitive information<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI simply requested *only* the nationalities of people arrested on the list, so the public can have an understanding of where in the world they are coming from.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On the same day that DHS denied the request, a local news outlet discovered that the administration had concealed that on May 3, two men drove a truck up to the Quantico base, gave a false reason for being there, and drove into the base despite being told not to.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">NEW: 6+ months ago, I filed a FOIA request w\/ CBP seeking the nationalities of people on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/publicist-works-with-cory-mills-to-rescue-american-citizens-in-israel-biden-administration-mia\/\" title=\"Publicist aids Cory Mills in rescuing US citizens in Israel, Biden admin missing.\">terror watchlist arrested<\/a> by Border Patrol in recent years. CBP now says they will not turn over that data, citing privacy &#038; law enforcement sensitivity exemptions, telling me: <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe\u2026 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/iMBbiTnmn1\">pic.twitter.com\/iMBbiTnmn1<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Bill Melugin (@BillMelugin_) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BillMelugin_\/status\/1791142779579740164?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 16, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cMultiple sources report one of the individuals inside the truck is a Jordanian foreign national who recently crossed the southern border into the U.S., and that one of the occupants is on the U.S. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/gop-lawmaker-terror-suspects-are-starting-to-exploit-the-southern-border\/\" title=\"GOP Lawmaker: Terror Suspects Are \u2018Starting To Exploit The Southern Border\u2019\">terrorist watch list<\/a>. Quantico did not confirm this information,\u201d reported <a href=\"https:\/\/www.potomaclocal.com\/2024\/05\/10\/exclusive-drivers-attempt-at-breaching-quantico-gate-echoes-deadly-incidents-at-white-house-u-s-military-bases\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Potomac Local<\/a>, which broke the story.<\/p>\n<p>Base spokesman Capt. Michael Curtis acknowledged the incident to the outlet, saying they \u201cignor[ed] the direct instructions of the officers\u201d and \u201cattempted to access\u201d the base and that they were turned over to ICE, implying that both were illegal immigrants.<\/p>\n<p>But Curtis and ICE both refused to address the man\u2019s status on the terrorist watch list.<\/p>\n<p>Melugin this week obtained other immigration data through a FOIA request that showed that in fiscal 2023, DHS recorded 670,000 illegal immigrant \u201cgotaways,\u201d nearly double the figure of 2021. The total for 2021-23, 1.6 million, was more than the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/border-gotaways-explode-under-biden-compared-to-trump-new-data-shows\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">entire decade<\/a> preceding it.<\/p>\n<p>A Daily Wire analysis of immigration data showed last month that in contrast with prior presidents from both parties, Joe Biden has l<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/criminal-prosecutions-of-illegal-immigrants-stopped-when-coronavirus-hit-they-never-resumed\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">argely ceased prosecuting illegal immigration as a crime<\/a>, instead opting for civil deportation proceedings.
