Claudia Tenney (R-NY) is requesting that the <a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/justice-department\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Justice Department<\/a> appoint a <a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/special-counsel\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>special counsel<\/a> to investigate President <a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/joe-biden\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Joe Biden<\/a> for withholding military aid to <a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/israel\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Israel<\/a> as <a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/house-republicans\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>House Republicans<\/a> continue to criticize the president for weakening U.S. support for the Jewish state.<\/p>\n<p>Tenney sent a letter to Attorney General <a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/merrick-garland\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Merrick Garland<\/a> on Wednesday asking him to appoint a special counsel to review Biden\u2019s decision to withhold an arms transfer that included 3,500 bombs over concerns regarding the growing Israeli offensive in Rafah. <\/p>\n<p>The New York Republican pointed to the Israel Security Supplemental Appropriations Act, which Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/2977171\/biden-to-sign-national-security-package-bill-on-wednesday-sending-billions-in-aid-to-ukraine-and-israel\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>signed into law<\/a> last month, that allocated <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/house\/2973096\/house-approves-foreign-aid-package\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>$26.38 billion<\/a> to support Israel, including $4 billion to replenish the Iron Dome and David\u2019s Sling missile defense systems and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/us-sanctions-russian-state-duma-defense-entities-and-more\/\" title=\"US Sanctions Russian State Duma, Defense Entities And More\">additional humanitarian aid<\/a> for Gaza.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis bill appropriated funds in support of Israel\u2019s military operations against Hamas,\u201d Tenney wrote. \u201cCongressional intent with this legislation is clear: this aid is urgently needed and must be delivered as expeditiously as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHowever, instead of following the law, the Biden administration has delayed the delivery of this essential aid that has already been obligated,\u201d Tenney continued, accusing Biden of undermining the \u201cprinciples of separation of powers\u201d given to Congress.<\/p>\n<p>She said the possible violation of the statute and \u201cdangerous failure to comply with Constitutional precedent\u201d warrants a special counsel investigation.
