Kennedy Jr (@RobertKennedyJr) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RobertKennedyJr\/status\/1790758680381591981?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 15, 2024<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote><\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Earlier, Trump quickly accepted Biden\u2019s challenge, describing the president as \u201cthe worst debater\u201d and claiming he cannot \u201cput two words together.\u201d He previously started placing an empty podium beside him onstage at his rallies in his own debate challenge.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s time for a debate so that he can explain to the American People his highly destructive Open Border Policy, new and ridiculous EV Mandates, the allowance of Crushing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/inflation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Inflation<\/a>, High Taxes, and his really WEAK Foreign Policy, which is allowing the World to \u2018Catch on Fire,&#8217;\u201d Trump posted on Truth Social. \u201cI would strongly recommend more than two debates and, for excitement purposes, a very large venue, although Biden is supposedly afraid of crowds \u2014 That\u2019s only because he doesn\u2019t get them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJust tell me when, I\u2019ll be there,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>But in O\u2019Malley Dillon\u2019s letter, she contended that a \u201ctelevision studio with just the candidates and moderators\u201d is a \u201cbetter, more cost-efficient way to proceed\u201d with the debates, possibly opening up a sticking point between the two candidates\u2019 campaigns.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the Trump campaign is seeking four debates between Biden and Trump: one in June, July, August, and September. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe believe there should be more than just two opportunities for the American people to hear more from the candidates themselves,\u201d Trump campaign managers Chris LaCivita and Susie Wiles wrote in a memo. \u201cWith the soaring inflation of Bidenomics costing America\u2019s hardworking families at the grocery store and at the gas pump, with our border being totally overrun, with chaos at home, chaos across the world, chaos on our college campuses, we should have one debate per month.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Biden earlier posted on X that he had received and accepted an invitation to debate on CNN, with the network confirming Trump\u2019s attendance at the event on June 27 in Atlanta, before the ABC event on Sept. 10 was announced. Trump has accepted another debate on Fox News on Oct. 2, which Biden has declined.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDonald Trump has a long history of playing games with debates: complaining about the rules, breaking those rules, pulling out at the last minute, or not showing up at all \u2014 which he\u2019s done repeatedly in all three cycles he\u2019s run for president,\u201d O\u2019Malley Dillon wrote in a separate statement. \u201cPresident Biden made his terms clear for two one-on-one debates, and Donald Trump accepted those terms. No more games.
