Emmanuel<\/span><\/a> <\/span> <span>   May 15, 2024 at 4:41am <\/span> <\/span>  <\/header>\n<section>\n<p>It\u2019s common knowledge that politics is a dirty game.<\/p>\n<p>Underhanded deals and attempts to smear opponents\u2019 reputations are all too common.<\/p>\n<p>Negative attack ads\u00a0aimed at\u00a0tarnishing a rival\u2019s image have become par for the course.<\/p>\n<p>We are even familiar with voter suppression tactics, gerrymandering districts, and other unethical means to try to gain an unfair advantage at the polls.<\/p>\n<p>But the Biden administration takes hitting below the belt to a\u00a0whole\u00a0new level.<\/p>\n<p>Not only has the Biden administration blessed the multi-pronged <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/watch-biden-press-secretary-proves-trump-correct-trial-connected-2024-election\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">lawfare attack<\/a> on the presumptive Republican nominee, former President Donald Trump, using far-left Democrat DAs in New York and Georgia as well as a special prosecutor bringing federal cases, but it has also refused to provide independent presidential contender <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/watch-rfk-jr-says-full-term-abortions-allowed-doesnt-want-leave-states\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Robert F. Kennedy Jr.<\/a> the Secret Service protection afforded to all <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/poll-4-in-10-californians-have-considered-fleeing-the-state\/\" title=\"Poll: 40% of Californians Contemplated Leaving\">major presidential candidates<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this month, Kennedy issued an urgent plea to the public to help convince the Biden administration to provide him with Secret Service security after an intruder broke into his house, not once but twice, returning after the police released him the first time. Kennedy said he has faced multiple security threats on the campaign trail and at his home.<\/p>\n<blockquote data-media-max-width=\"560\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">RFK Jr: \u201cAnother intruder broke into my house this week and then returned to my house again shortly after the police released him. President Biden has made the historic decision to deny me a Secret Service detail. I\u2019m the only one in history whose request has ever been denied.\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/oWaKvIX43b\">pic.twitter.com\/oWaKvIX43b<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 TheBlaze (@theblaze) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/theblaze\/status\/1790189478952214648?\">May 14, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RobertKennedyJr\/status\/1787222772806238423\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">May 5 post<\/a> on the social media platform X, Kennedy included a petition asking for support for signatures on a simple sentence: \u201cI agree RFK Jr. should receive Secret Service protection.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"firefly-poll-container\">\n<p>Should RFK Jr have Secret Service protection?<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>As most Americans know \u2014 or should \u2014 the Kennedy family has been uniquely impacted by political violence and assassination. In 1963, President John F. Kennedy was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jfklibrary.org\/learn\/about-jfk\/jfk-in-history\/november-22-1963-death-of-the-president\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">assassinated<\/a> in Dallas, Texas, by Lee Harvey Oswald.<\/p>\n<p>Just five years later, in June 1968, JFK\u2019s younger brother and the father of RFK Jr. himself, Robert F. Kennedy, a U.S. senator at the time, was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.loc.gov\/exhibitions\/drawing-justice-courtroom-illustrations\/about-this-exhibition\/assassination-and-murder-trials\/robert-f-kennedys-assassin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">assassinated<\/a> in the now-closed Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles after winning the California Democratic presidential primary.<\/p>\n<p>He was shot by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/several-kennedy-family-members-devastated-fathers-assassin-gets-life-changing-news-prison\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sirhan Sirhan<\/a>, a Palestinian man with Jordanian citizenship.<\/p>\n<p>In a nearly three-minute campaign video shared on social media, Kennedy recounted another terrifying incident that occurred last month when an armed intruder \u201cusing false US Marshall badges and phony federal ID and carrying an arsenal in his backpack,\u201d attempted to approach him at a speech in Los Angeles, \u201ca short distance from where my dad was assassinated,\u201d Kennedy said.<\/p>\n<p>Kennedy pointed out that \u201cevery presidential candidate since the 1970s who has asked for Secret Service protection has received it,\u201d going on to list a number of presidential candidates.<\/p>\n<p>He pointed out that former President Barack Obama received Secret Service protection two years before the election,<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHowever, President Biden has made the historic decision to deny me a Secret Service detail,\u201d Kennedy said, adding, \u201cI\u2019m the only one in history whose request has ever been denied.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>(Kennedy didn\u2019t mention it, but Donald Trump received Secret Service protection as early as November 2015 when he was still only the front-runner in a crowded field for the Republican nomination, as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2015\/11\/05\/politics\/donald-trump-ben-carson-secret-service\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CNN<\/a> reported at the time. Ben Carson, another GOP contender considered at particular risk because he\u2019s black, also received it.)<\/p>\n<p>Kennedy went on to say that while he is not concerned for his\u00a0own\u00a0safety, he does have concerns about the safety of his family and bystanders if another\u00a0serious\u00a0attempt is made on him.<\/p>\n<p>But he added that he is mostly troubled by the \u201cweaponization of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/evidence-mounts-that-capitol-breach-was-pre-planned-eroding-incitement-allegation-in-trump-impeachment-trial\/\" title=\"Evidence Mounts that Capitol Breach Was Pre-Planned, Eroding Incitement Allegation in Trump Impeachment Trial\">federal <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/the-red-wave-of-conservative-women-elected-to-congress\/\" title=\"The Red Wave of Conservative Women Elected to Congress\">law enforcement<\/a> agencies<\/a> to serve political agendas.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s not right for the president to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/breaking-biden-unveils-immigration-bill-leftwing-activists-call-for-end-to-filibuster-to-ram-it-through\/\" title=\"BREAKING: Biden Unveils Immigration Bill, Leftwing Activists Call For End To Filibuster To Ram It Through\">provide protection<\/a> for his family and political favorites while denying it to political rivals,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Kennedy called the decision to deny him protection a \u201cnaked political calculation\u201d based on the fact that the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/dei-disaster-petition-circulating-within-secret-service-community-warns-potential-insider-threats\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Secret Service<\/a> had concluded that Kennedy was at a \u201cheightened threat level.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDuring his first week as attorney general, my father assembled all the Department of Justice senior prosecutors to tell them that he would not tolerate any politicization of law enforcement,\u201d Kennedy said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPresident Biden displays a bust of my father in the Oval Office, but he seems to have forgotten this critical tenet of American democracy,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>In October, Kennedy faced another threat when, according to his campaign, a man was arrested twice after attempting to break into his home in Los Angeles, <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/campaign\/4278745-intruder-arrested-twice-at-los-angeles-home-of-rfk-jr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the Hill reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In July, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2023\/07\/28\/politics\/fact-check-rfk-biden-secret-service-protection-denial\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CNN\u00a0fact checked<\/a> Kennedy\u2019s request for Secret Service protection, pointing out that only major candidates in a presidential race normally receive such protection.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Since the assassination of my father in 1968, candidates for president are provided Secret Service protection. Kennedy Jr (@RobertKennedyJr) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RobertKennedyJr\/status\/1684909385376575488?\">July 28, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>According to CNN, \u201conly then-Senator Barack Obama, who faced unique threats as a Black man with a realistic chance to become president, was granted Secret Service protection as early in a campaign as Kennedy [was] seeking it\u201d at the time.<\/p>\n<p>However, almost one year later, the situation has changed considerably, but the White House\u2019s stance has not.<\/p>\n<p>Kennedy is no longer just another long-shot primary candidate \u2014 he is now polling at 13 percent as a legitimate independent contender in a three-way national race, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/politics\/2024-election\/rfk-jr-candidacy-hurts-trump-biden-nbc-news-poll-finds-rcna148536\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NBC News.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>While still behind Biden and Trump, that level of support suggests he has a plausible, if slim, path to victory, and yet the Biden administration has not made provisions to protect him from harm.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, the apparent security risks Kennedy faces are more serious based on the repeated incidents of armed intruders trying to break into his house and accost him on the campaign trail.\u00a0 His family\u2019s tragic history also cannot be ignored when weighing potential threats.<\/p>\n<p>By refusing to provide Secret Service protection to Kennedy, the Biden administration likely aims to push him out of the race due to concerns about security or the inability to pay for private security.<\/p>\n<p>Kennedy told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/rfk-jr-racks-up-1-4m-debt-private-security-firm-biden-ignores-plea-secret-service-protection\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fox News<\/a> in March that he had already racked up a $1.4 million in expenses having to pay for private security.<\/p>\n<p>But should something happen to this presidential contender whose family has already lost two members to political assassins, the blame will lie squarely on this administration\u2019s shoulders.<\/p>\n<p>We have seen political shenanigans and dirty tactics.<\/p>\n<p>But this is the first time we have seen an administration willing to play Russian roulette with a man\u2019s life just for a share of 13 points.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<div>\n<p><b><i>A Note from Our Deputy Managing Editor:<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><i><span>I heard a chilling comment the other day: \u201cWe don\u2019t even know if an election will be held in 2024.\u201d <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span>That wasn\u2019t said by a conspiracy theorist or a doomsday prophet.
